Loud colors. Loud patterns. Colors that clash. Patterns that clash. Most things from the 70's, LOL!

Not necessarily a lot of jewelry, but HUGE jewelry is pretty tacky.

Actually, the whole "pimp" look is considered pretty tacky, or it used to be. But then again, some granny clothes can also be considered tacky, so it really covers a lot of ground. ;-)

You can also take a look at one of the so-called Christian networks and look at some of the sets there with the gold and stuff. (especially the one that has the lady with the purple hair) I think that's pretty darn tacky. I think tacky and gaudy are frequently interchangeable, actually. ;-)

Hot pink vinyl pants. Huge slanted bright colored glasses. Basically anything that clashes (doesn't match) is tacky. Things that you see in the store and think are totally lame and you say you'll never wear them (unless it was Halloween). A feather boa could be considered tacky. You can find them at Claire's.

I did a google image search for "tacky", and I found this: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Tacky would be like wearing different colored eyeshadows on each eye. Also, you could do one high pigtail and one low pigtail.

For clothes, wearing layers is pretty tacky. Like, you could wear soffee shorts on top of jeans or a skirt on top of jeans. Also, you could wear a tank top on top of a long sleeve shirt. Whatever you wear, make sure it still looks cute though =D.

hope this helps- :)

A lot of people consider tacky day to be "wear as much as you can possibly put on" but NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! That is NOT TACKY!! Well, it's kinda tacky, more like "this looks horrid, never wear it again". Tacky is wearing horizontal stripes with verticle stripes. Tacky is stripes with polka dots, tacky is what our parents wear! hahaha.
I hope this gives you a better idea of tacky day! I can't wait for my school to start up with character week, or gee, I forgot what it was called, but it was loads of fun last year, especially boy girl switch. There were a few guys who, if it wasn't for their short hair, really looked like girls haha.
