Why can almost no-one on Advicenators spell correctly? It isn't really that hard, and don't use the excuse that people are young, because I'm not at all old and I can spell without too many mistakes, or none at all.

some people are just very careless. lets compare it to somthing in our everyday lives: driving! you see how carelessly people drive! they dont give a turn signal at the right times and dont stop changing lanes until they see a cop car. it happens. the world is full of stupid people and in someone else's eyes, you and i may be considered stupid so really its a matter of opinion. i see what you mean about the spelling...i havent seen much of it lately. a lot of the little 13 year girls are always "tiiPin LyKK DiS" only to see me die slowely and painfully but if you say anything to them, they freak out, give you a "1" feedback (immaturity beyond explination) and a "iim JUs Triiieing 2 B cReaaatIve". as for the amount of chatspeak detectors, theyre about as high as they can go on standards...just stay cool and dont give into sloppy typing. <3

This isnt a question.. its an argument. Whyd yooh even bother ? Its not that they cant spell, its that theyre creative and like to do it. No use pointing it out. Everyone already knows and people like the way they spell. Just becasue you dont like it doesnt mean they cant.

But to be serious - there are a lot of illiterate, and stupid people around. There are also the people who think that netspeak is easier to turn out than good language. The consequence is that they end up forgetting how to spell correctly, or get slow at it. If they practised proper English, they would be just as fast.
If we're not talking about netspeak, you're probably referring to something more like "neatspeak" (my word).
Peeple lyke, tahk lyke, stupud, and ryplaysing lettirs. Thys is eyther extream stipuditi, or maybee thay rilli dun't no haow to spell iyt. Bad education, stupidity and some, sadly, think it is "Kool".

The thing is, people make mistakes. no one is perfect. So if someone doesn't spell correctly, who cares. Also, it doesn't matter how old you are. You can be 30 and still make writing errors.
You aren't perfect, and I'm sure you definately make alot of writing mistakes.

I don't know why. Some people like using slang, and other people just type differently on purpose. Some people say they do it to be 'different', but it doesn't really mean that they're different because a lot of people type like that, you know? Well whatever, we can't do a lot about it.

They don't because most of them are just used to chatroom speak. It is quicker to write some things in leet or in shortened versions than others. And typos do come for some people.
Though I must say that these requests seem to be more correct in spelling than the last site I was on. Some requests there were unreadable even for me. "Like, i sk8, n i fll of mi bke. i scrapd mi kne, n i ned srgry. wat do i do?" :)

I love it that there is at least one other person that ca spell and understands the meaning of GRAMMAR!!!
People do things different ways, some PPl spel lyk dis, and some people don't!!
It's partially that some people cannot spell and partially the lastest fad (abbreviating EVERYTHING!!)
Either way this is a forum where EVERYBODY can ask for advice or help and it doesn't matter how you spell your question!
