Question Posted Saturday September 3 2005, 1:37 pm

hi. i never excericise. i don*t play sports, i don*t run or walk much, and i don*t work out. but i realized that i really want nice abs, so i*m trying to come up with a plan for me to do a number of crunches a day for 2 months to get nice abs. so far i*ve decided to do 50 crunches every night and 40 every morning. do you think that i*ll have abs in 2 months? if not how many should i do then?

Depending on if you have stomach fat or not you might have to run daily also otherwise you will just end up with nice abs under a layer of fat. So I would work running into your ab rountine also.

truthfully no..i dont want to be mean though..but eat a lot of protein but dont eliminate other food groups and do 100 crunches every other day..because you gain muscle because it tears and then 're builds' itself so you have to rest in between.. and also run so you lose some weight so you can see the muscle and stuff

I think that that plan is okay, but if I were you I'd try something a little less repetitive, like Pilates. Pilates will give you abs in two months definitely. Doing too many crunches will hurt and it's really repetitive. Pilates is fun and it is a really easy set of exercise moves that will give you abs in no time!
Otherwise, crunches are okay, and I would give it a bit more time to get abs than 2 months.

yes thats pretty much enough. my cheerleading coach who also works at a fitness center wants us to do 300 a week. basically 100 every other day. and she said do all 100 at once cause it works your abs harder. dont forget to stretch afterwards. try to alternate your exercises. dont just so situps, try a whole bunch of other things and do them different every day. good luck! the way youre going, youll definitely get abs!

that sounds like a great plan to me but it really depends on how you were when you start out, know what i mean? dont expect results right away and dont give up! also, quality vs. quantity... go slow on the way down to make them work your abs more. its better to do 40 good ones than 80 crappy ones. you could also do reverse crunches (leg lifts)...it you can swing one leg up at a time while keeping the other one off the ground, that will do wonders for your abs. good luck! <3

if i were you, id do em at morning and night... it takes a lot to get abs, and if your not exersizing much, its going to be twice as hard.. if you run, suck in your stomach when you do so... that helps make your stomach flatter, and helps give you abs... but if you only want t o do sit ups, yea do like 100 a day... (or more if you can stand it.. they get a lil painful after a lil bit) but do it at morning and night...
