I think giving great advice comes with placing yourself in that person's shoes. Become them, realize what they're going through. Give them advice on what you would do if you were them. Also, when you're answering a question think of the person that asked the question as a close friend that you're trying to help out. When you think of them as a close friend, you'll give better advice. Don't always give person advice and tell them to Google it. I know it's annoying sometimes but if you really want to help them out, google it up yourself, get information on the topic and copy and paste the useful information that might help them out a bit. Always be friendly, nice and don't put anyone down. No question is dumb and with your help (or someone else's) it could actually show that someone does care about them and is willing to listen to what they have to say, along with helping them out with their problem(s).

It's pretty simple. Answer many questions -- answer them well. Be polite, while still being honest. Present all solutions that you see to their dilemma. It's all about building a name for yourself; you just have to get out there, ya know? One thing I can suggest is using proper grammar and typing skills. Another big no-no: do NOT ask people to rate you or view your column - we hate that around here. Lastly, it's pretty difficult to give "bad" advice. Simply try your best, and give complete effort. Follow these steps, and you should be fine. :) Goodluck!

Just be honest with people. Don't talk down to them or judge.
Do not use chatspeak or any other gibberish.
If you don't know an answer for sure, move on to next question.
Don't give long answers unless really necessary. Some people don't want long ones.
Do your best and don't be afraid to ask questions...but check the Help/faqs first :)

tell them exactly what you think. dont sugarcoat anything, it never helps and might possibly even make the situation worse.
just keep giving advice, if you get one or two bad feedbacks, just learn from your mistakes and learn not to give that advice again.
-hope it helps-

Basically, tell them how it is. Be honest and get to the point. Don't tell people what they wanna hear, tell them what they NEED to hear, and yes there's a difference. Be nice but upfront. As long as you're respectful and smart you should be fine on here. But stop worrying soo much about it!!! Well, hope i helped ya!!!

Well, always be honest. Yes, some people will rate you down but that's the best advice you can give. Tell it like it is but try not to be sarcastic because that's annoy. You really just need to tell them waht you really think the best answer is. I hope I helped!

Just answer people from your heart. If you connect with a quistion and an answer comes to you almost instantly then you'll problably give good advice. ^_^ It gets really easy after practice! Dont worry, you'll do great!

Hope I helped!

You give you outlook on the situation. Being honest is always good advice. If they don't like it then it's because it's not what they wanted to hear. People get offeneded whe you speak your mind and state the truth... they want to hear what they want to hear. But to give good advice, Be honest and give your input on it. What you think should be done. Everything is based on opinion and that's what most people need to realize.
Good Luck with your column and Welcome to Advicenators.
