Eyeliner

Question Posted Friday September 2 2005, 7:21 am

I'm starting out as a freshman in high school. I have no idea what eyeliner color is great on caramel tan skin or what brand name I should get for any eye liner thats noticable.. but not too visable. Just right for nice face but not over done. any ideas?

Perfect Blend by Cover Girl ( Basic Black ) would look really cute on you. I lovelovelove that stuff. You can get it anywhere basically. It's like $4 or $5. And it lasts quite a while. Hope I helped! Good luck at school =]

maybe a light brown if you want to be light.
but i think a teal/blue green would look nice.. but thats if you want to be noticed.

i would try out browns and maybe some light blacks.

any kind works well, i would get the pencil kind, no the roll up ones <3

Well, if you don't want it to stand out TOO much, I suggest going with a pale brown liner. Black would also look fabulous, but from the way it sounds.. it might make too much of a statement than you're looking to create.

And as for products, I think the two best brands of eye liner out there are "Meryl Norman" and "Beautique". "Meryl Norman", which can only be purchased at "The Meryl Norman Cosmetic Studios", is pricey [typically $8.50 - $15.00], but it REALLY IS good stuff. It goes on wonderfully, and stays on all day! On the other hand... I happen to think that "Beautique" is INCREDIBLE!! However, I've ONLY seen "Beautique" at "Sally's". Good news though, it's only .99 cents. TRUST ME.. I would NEVER EVER EVER buy crap make up!!! I get only the best, so please, please, please, please DON'T let this dollar price throw you off - you'd be cheating yourself out of the best product out there!! I'd *PREFER* "Beautique" out of ANY other brand of eye liner on the market!! I could easily go out and buy a $15.00 pencil, but I'd RATHER get "Beautique"! "Beautique" glides on smoothly and REALLY LASTS ALLLLL DAY!!! I CAN NOT promote this item enough!! And if you still have doubts... for only .99 cents.. it's worth a shot!! [:

You could use a tan eyeliner, one a little darker than your skin. That way its not too noticable but can still bring out the shape of your eyes. If not, then use a dark brown or black... but apply it VERY lightly. That way it will bring out your eyes even more, and you will be happy that it isnt such a drastic change. You can use AVON eyeliner. If you know anyone that sells that. If not then really any brand name would be good. I would just recommend that you use waterproof. Especially in the winter, because you will get snow & stuff in your face.
Good luck!!
Congrats on your first year in high school.

Benefit, easy to purchase and fairly cheap from Sephora, you could also get it from other makeup stores too I'm pretty sure, or in Macy's at the mall. I like to use navy blue, and I think it might look really good on yours too, it would be more noticable on a little bit tanner skin. You can use black, but it might not look as vibrant as a dark blue would. And trust me, it's nothing crazy either, like it's not some psycho metallic color, it's taken just as serious as the black. Good luck!!

I looked it up in the Teen People celebrity beauty guide (seeing as I wouldn't know off the top of my head - i'm pale as pale can be lol.) and for light olive skin I would try a dark brown eyeliner - but if your skin is darker I would try black. Also - for my eyeliner (i don't use it unless i'm going to like, a party or something lol.) I use maybelline new york expert eye. Try that in your shade of eyeliner. Good luck =)
