I'm starting out as a freshman in high school. I have no idea what eyeliner color is great on caramel tan skin or what brand name I should get for any eye liner thats noticable.. but not too visable. Just right for nice face but not over done. any ideas?
oneandonly345 answered Saturday September 3 2005, 6:15 pm: maybe a light brown if you want to be light.
but i think a teal/blue green would look nice.. but thats if you want to be noticed.
i would try out browns and maybe some light blacks.
Mackenzie answered Friday September 2 2005, 12:17 pm: Well, if you don't want it to stand out TOO much, I suggest going with a pale brown liner. Black would also look fabulous, but from the way it sounds.. it might make too much of a statement than you're looking to create.
And as for products, I think the two best brands of eye liner out there are "Meryl Norman" and "Beautique". "Meryl Norman", which can only be purchased at "The Meryl Norman Cosmetic Studios", is pricey [typically $8.50 - $15.00], but it REALLY IS good stuff. It goes on wonderfully, and stays on all day! On the other hand... I happen to think that "Beautique" is INCREDIBLE!! However, I've ONLY seen "Beautique" at "Sally's". Good news though, it's only .99 cents. TRUST ME.. I would NEVER EVER EVER buy crap make up!!! I get only the best, so please, please, please, please DON'T let this dollar price throw you off - you'd be cheating yourself out of the best product out there!! I'd *PREFER* "Beautique" out of ANY other brand of eye liner on the market!! I could easily go out and buy a $15.00 pencil, but I'd RATHER get "Beautique"! "Beautique" glides on smoothly and REALLY LASTS ALLLLL DAY!!! I CAN NOT promote this item enough!! And if you still have doubts... for only .99 cents.. it's worth a shot!! BlackBeltxO answered Friday September 2 2005, 11:18 am: You could use a tan eyeliner, one a little darker than your skin. That way its not too noticable but can still bring out the shape of your eyes. If not, then use a dark brown or black... but apply it VERY lightly. That way it will bring out your eyes even more, and you will be happy that it isnt such a drastic change. You can use AVON eyeliner. If you know anyone that sells that. If not then really any brand name would be good. I would just recommend that you use waterproof. Especially in the winter, because you will get snow & stuff in your face.
Good luck!!

Mercy_x_Me answered Friday September 2 2005, 10:23 am: Benefit, easy to purchase and fairly cheap from Sephora, you could also get it from other makeup stores too I'm pretty sure, or in Macy's at the mall. I like to use navy blue, and I think it might look really good on yours too, it would be more noticable on a little bit tanner skin. You can use black, but it might not look as vibrant as a dark blue would. And trust me, it's nothing crazy either, like it's not some psycho metallic color, it's taken just as serious as the black. Good luck!! [ Mercy_x_Me's advice column | Ask Mercy_x_Me A Question ]

dntletitgo2urhead answered Friday September 2 2005, 9:25 am: I looked it up in the Teen People celebrity beauty guide (seeing as I wouldn't know off the top of my head - i'm pale as pale can be lol.) and for light olive skin I would try a dark brown eyeliner - but if your skin is darker I would try black. Also - for my eyeliner (i don't use it unless i'm going to like, a party or something lol.) I use maybelline new york expert eye. Try that in your shade of eyeliner. Good luck =)
