beccanicole answered Friday September 2 2005, 6:34 pm: hey there....
if you want to frey or "shred" your jeans the best way to do it is sandpaper, because the material of your jeans is composed of threads going in opposite directions so when you rub the sandpaper on it, it will wear away the top layer giving you that vintage worn out look.
and when it comes to the second hole, my mom and dad both had issues with it, because they thought it looked really trashy. i know that comparing myself to other girls, like "oh she has one" or whining about how i want one really did nothing. I sat down and really talked to them about why they didnt want me to get one, you're lucky your mom is on your side maybe you two can talk to your father together. i'm not saying he will change his mind over night, but maybe you can help him see that its not such a big deal...
ENJOY UR WEEKEND :)
Mercy_x_Me answered Friday September 2 2005, 10:20 am: Tell him the second hole is no more drastic than the first. Some 10 year old little girls get them, and old people have them too. The reason I say this is so that you know that it's not some crazy drastic statement, it's actually pretty common in people with their ears pierced. And about using the cheese grater for the jeans, I wouldn't do that. I'm pretty sure you can, but my friends just cut little holes in their jeans with scissors, and then from there rip it themselves into a bigger one so it doesn't look so purposely cut. Good Luck! iiLOVEyoux0o answered Friday September 2 2005, 9:58 am: Dear Asker, To get your jeans a "vintage" look, yes you can use a cheese grader..also you should sharty my making a few holes around the part where you want the "shredding" to be with a pair of scissors. Also I suggest that you either buy a cheap pair of jeans to do this, or just use some old jeans. You dont want to ruin a completey good pair of jeans if you mess up.
I sort of have the same problem with my parents; because I want to get my cartilige periced my dad however thinks its fine..my mom dosen`t. Anywho; back to your question..try to be nicer toward your dad help him with things. If he`s worried about you doing things around the house: Do what you`re asked. You really don`t need to do anything "extra"..just what you`re asked to do. Ask your mother to talk to your dad about it..ask him "Why can`t she get it done".."Whats wrong with having a second hole?" ..also, if all fails: ask your mom to get a second hole with you..it`ll ease up your dad a bit.
`Good Luck..I hope I helped! xOxO-->Alexxa [♥] [ iiLOVEyoux0o's advice column | Ask iiLOVEyoux0o A Question ]
