There is a long story behind this, but basically I had drunken sex that I didnt want to happen so it could be called rape, but its a whole messy story.
But anyway, onto my question. I was on the last day of my period. My period had stopped earlier on in the day. I don't even know whether the boy wrapped it up or not, and just the THOUGHT of him makes me want to vomit, so I'm not asking him. I wasnt on any birth control because I use the ring - and you take that out for the week you're on your period. I've been vomitting and feeling sick to stomach all the time since then (which was Friday night) and I can't eat. How possible do you guys think it is that I'm pregnant? And should I wait to take a pregnancy test or should I just take one now? 17/F

You may have alcohol poisioning, or just be nervous from all of this stuff. There is a possiblity that you are pregnant but it could also just be you overcoming that night. I hope that everything works out though. Good luck. [ BlackBeltxO's advice column | Ask BlackBeltxO A Question ]

That's effective in blocking pregnancy up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. So you should have until this evening, but you need to hurry! Call your doctor or OB/GYN.
It could be that you're vomiting because you're pregnant. Or it could be that you're really upset over the rape/sex, which is understandable. Or you could have a totally unrelated stomach bug. No one here is in a position to know. However, morning sickness normally develops in the 4th week of pregnancy or later, so it's more likely that your nausea is psychosomatic or due to an unrelated illness.
Home pregnancy tests can give you accurate results as early as 7 - 14 days, depending on the specific test. If you take a test after seven days and it comes out negative, DON'T assume that you're not pregnant - take another test a week later. Your OB/GYN should also give you a test.
I'm sorry this happened to you. If you don't mind me suggesting it, you should probably avoid getting drunk around people you don't know and trust. I don't know you, of course, but getting THAT drunk may be a sign of a drinking problem.
hailebop answered Monday August 29 2005, 11:21 am: The ring is a form of birth control. Like the birth control Pill, you have a week break from the hormones, but you are still covered during that period as long as you restart as normal after 7 days. If you were using the ring as prescribed, which it sounds as if you were, then it's unlikely you are pregnant.
However, given your symptoms I would say that it would be good to take a pregnancy test for your own piece of mind in around 2 weeks (before then would be unreliable), although I would stress that pregnancy seems unlikely in your scenario, and that your symptoms could likely be explained by the stress you are under following this extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. You've taken all the right steps with calling your gynaecologist and arranging a sensible appointment time (some STDs have even longer incubation periods - the HIV virus can not show up in tests for up to 8 months), so all you can do now is wait until then. I might also suggest seeking some counselling, as this has obviously been very difficult for you, and it would probably help you to have some additional help in dealing with the after period and waiting for your tests and results. All the best.

ncblondie answered Monday August 29 2005, 2:03 am: You need to go the gynecologist to be checked. Since you're not sure whether he used protection, you're not only at risk for pregnancy, but also STDs. I'm not sure if a home pregnancy test will be accurate yet since it's only been a few days. Your best bet is to get a blood test at the doctor's office. They're much more accurate, as well as more sensitive, than a home pregnancy test.

Well you just asked me this question in my inbox and i still think you should take a pregnancy test right away. Just to be on the safe side.
Also now that you gave additional information all the symptoms sound like you are indeed pregnant. But I could be wrong. Go to the doctors and get tested.
Good luck sweetheart and sorry for answering your question for the second time i just want you to be safe and for you to do the right thing.

Oh gosh that's horrible. I honestly don't think it was rape but the guy did take advantage of you. No wonder he makes you sick. Since you had sex the same day your period ended i don't think you are pregnant but to be sure you should take a pregnancy test right away. That way if you are pregnant and you don't want to keep the baby you have time to get an abortion or do whatever you feel the need to do. Since you are not even sure if he used a condom i strongly suggest you get tested right away. Just to be safe. About you not being able to eat is kind of funny because one of the most important symptoms of being pregnant is wanting to eat ALOT. The other symptoms make sense but it just doesn't add up. Maybe your just feeling sick because of what has happened. It's possible.
