yes i think you should take out to treat it and then if it gets better and hasnt closed up try putting it back in. Also you might wanna try getting a diffrent ring maybe if its fake itd hurting your skin.

Peroxide. I would say alcohol but that would probably irritate it more. Keep cleaning it and washing it thoroughly and try to eliminate clothing / piercing contact because that irritates it more causing the infection to grow. Whatever you do, DONT TAKE OUT THE PIERCING. that leaves it open and subjectible to the infection to grow inside it once it starts to close. BADD, lol . If it still is red and swollen and you think it really is infected see a doctor or your piercer and ask them to suggest what you should do.

use a q-tip and dip the q-tip in peroxide and then just rub it around your belly-button ring. it will hurt but it will kill the bacteria.

Well mine got infected, when its infected it will bleed and puss, if so its an infection, if its just red and swollen it may just be irritated..

but no do not put neosporin on itthat will make it worse. if it is infected lay down on your park so your stomach is flat facing up and pour peroxide in it, it should bubble, and that is good because it is cleaning the infection from it. and DO NOT TAKE IT OUT, it will be hardto get the ring back in, and the hole will grow shut trapping the infection inside of it and you DONT want that to happen. trust me on this one, i got this advice from the doctor.

I use, and all my friends use Dial soap. Just the regular bar of soap will clear it up right away. Take the top ball off or your ring and slide the ring down so its not all the way out but you can see the hole, and wash it that way it gets in the bar & in the piercing. They also have dial spray that you can use anytime. Just dont use dial hand SANITIZER, because it has alcohol and may infect it even more. =) Good luck.

this happened to me but in all honesty IT WAS THE BAR THEY PUT IN!!! so either go back to your piercer? or try changing the bar and the swelling will go down but go to your piercer first.
