I found black stuff on my tooth brush, that I keep in the shower. I use it ever night, and so I know it didn't just grow there. I had used it less that 24 hours before I saw the black stuff. Am I being poisoned, or is there anouther explanation?
DancinCutie08 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 11:13 am: i would thing its mold. it sounds like it. mold grows very fast. i would suggest throwing that tooth brush right away just to be safe and get a new one. also if you can dont keep it in the shower and if you have to get a case for it to keep it try when your not using it [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
FunnyCide answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 10:30 am: Actually, it could be mold. Mold can grow overnight. There is a poisonous black mold that grows quite rapidly (1 inch = 12 hours) and if you move it too much, the mold will release poisonous gases into the air. The answer you recieved from CapnCatsEye was a joke, but I'm not kidding. Look it up if you don't believe me. Gently put your toothbrush in a Ziploc bag and throw it away. Get a new toothbrush.

bound_heart answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 8:36 am: It may just be some mold or mildew from the shower. If it didn't have time to grow, maybe it came off the shower, somehow, and onto your toothbrush. Either way? Definitely time to get a new one.
