Almost 5 months

Question Posted Saturday August 13 2005, 10:18 pm

Okay, I know you're going to roll your eyes and say "oh no, not another period question" but please read before you do that.
Well I started my period for the first time in March of this year, like the last week of March. I had it for 6 or 7 days, I think I started the 20th, and I know for a fact I ended Easter day. Anyway, I'm kind of worried because I know your period is random the first few years, but so random that you go without it for almost 5 months?! I've talked to my mom about it, and she said if I still don't have it, then when I go for my physical I can ask my doctor about it, but she's not going to schedule me an appointment about it or anything like that, and the thing is, my physical isn't until October and I honestly don't want to wait that long.
I know you all aren't doctors, so you don't know 100% whats going on, but I'm looking more for "This happened to me...etc" I've NEVER had sex, I'm NOT pregnant, Okay, well I'm thanking you in advance, I do rate everything, and leave feedback, depending on the answer depending on the rating.
Jackass=1s and 2s
funny/sarcastic/unhelpful 3's (depending on how much maybe even a 4)
and well thought out, well writting answers= 5
Go ahead now, answer!

well this did happen to me.. back in 4th grade.
i started the last week of school .. and then i didnt get it until jan. of the next month (may-jan) so thats lik e.. 8 months? or something.
but it is complelely (sp) normal.. really its nothing to worrie about.
you could always talk to your mom saying "mom i want to go to the doctors now!" and if she says no .. ask some one else to take you.
but hey! this could be go.. period free for the summer and start of school, whoot whoot <3

hay girl... i know youre prolly scared/worried ect. and believe me i would be 2... but see i have this friend... she only has her period once every like 4 months... and its consistant... like it comes every four months and never misses but its not your average once a month deal... and when she first told me i was like omg girl that is WIERD but then i was talkin 2 my doctor bout it and she said that until you are grown... 18+ that periods can be so wacky... like you wouldnt even believe some of things shes seen.. like girls who for the first year only had it twice and then the second year had it normal like once a month and all that wierd stuff... so i personally wouldnt worry if i were you... now if you go like a year without then ya know talk to your mom again and definitely see a doctor but as for now it could just be one of those things... =/... hope everything works out for you! feel free to ask more...

Well for some people it is diff. some they skip a lot more then that long.. for me I skipped up to 6 mounths..... dont worry because it does come.... what you should try to do is ask some of your friends about it (the type that wont make fun of you for it) see what they have to say and go from there.... it is probly best that you go to the doctors though to see what is wrong

Hope I helped <3 Tiffany

Razhie answered Saturday August 13 2005, 10:40 pm:
Please get a physical sooner. Although I'm one of those girls who can go a month (or two or three and once almost four) between her periods, it still sounds to me like there might be other factors at play here.

Your body not ovulating could mean it's lacking the nutrients or strength to do so, or any number of other things. So please see a doctor just to make sure you are alright. If they say you are okay, then don't worry about it anymore, but be on the safe side and get checked.

xomegaroni answered Saturday August 13 2005, 10:23 pm:
i think you should definately get checked out sooner. i know alot of girls that skip periods every other month, but not months straight. since you probably aren't involved in sexual activity, it could juss be a problem that a doctor can fix with pills. if you are involved in sexual activity, then thats a different story. i think 5 months is a lil too long to not have it in a row.

good luck!
