First off, a Calorie is different than a calorie. Note the capitalization. A calorie is the amount of energy required to raise one gram of a substance by one degree celsius. One thousand of these make a kilocalorie, otherwise known as a Calorie, which is the common label on food products. Hope this answers your question.
Love,
Nevaeh

Kilo means 1000, so I'm willing to bet that a kilocalorie is 1000 calories... just a completely out-of-the-blue wild guess...

Yes. A Calorie (with a capital C) is equivalent to one kilocalorie, or one thousand calories.

I can't remember if that's exactly right, but I do know that one Calorie is made up of one thousand smaller units called calories (or kalories?).

Make sure you check on WebMD or some other related site to see if that's right, as I'm not entirely sure.

yes and no. in science a kilocalorie is 1000 calories, however when you look on the nutrition info of a package and it says ## calories, they really mean kilocalories
