Okay, well one of my friends was talking to me, and she said she thought she was overwieght. She doesn't really look it, but she said she's gained about 20lbs in the past year. She thinks it may be due to stress because she moved just this past year. Well she had to leave her boyfriend behind and everything, and now she's maintaining a long distance relationship, which we all know can be stressful. Anyway, her boss usues relacore, and has an extra bottle, and my friend told me she was thinking about using it. So I asked her if it was safe and she said she wasn't sure. So I visited a website, relacore.com and I still wasn't completely sure if it was safe or not. She's only 15 and I wasn't sure if this was something that only adults should use, or something of the such. Anyway, we just wanted to know if relacore is okay for a 15 year old girl to take, and if not are there any other diet pills you could reccommend? Thanks in advance
VainTaraLynn answered Saturday August 13 2005, 2:52 am: First off. ANy diet pill isnt that safe for someone under 18. What your friend should really do is eat healthier and exercise alot. I know everyone says this but it works. It takes time and effort and also confidence. Tell her to stay away from the diet pills. [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]

Healthy diet and exercise is the best way to lose weight. I know that's what everyone always says, but it is true. That being the case, slim-fast is unnecessary. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
ncblondie answered Friday August 12 2005, 7:11 pm: Generally weight loss pills such as Relacore should only be used by adults, if at all. I'm usually a big fan of natural remedies but I wouldn't recommend taking Relacore simply because it has not been out long enough to see if there are serious side effects or possible interactions with other medications.
Slimfast, if used in moderation, would be ok for weight loss. However, from experience I can tell you that the shakes can sometimes taste chalky. If your friend does decide to go the Slimfast, the prepackaged meals would be her best bet with the Slimfast snackbars as snacks. This could get expensive for your friend after a while though.
A better idea would be to do it the old-fashioned way, simple diet and exercise. Tell your friend to cut down on breads and pastas unless they are whole grain or wheat. Only eat foods that are boiled, baked, broiled, grilled, or steamed. Drink lots of water. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies.
If simple diet and exercise aren't enough, your friend needs to talk to her doctor to rule out any underlying conditions that may be preventing her from losing the weight. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
nerdqueen13 answered Friday August 12 2005, 2:36 pm: i honestly dont kno about this relacore thing, but i am sure your friend is absolutely beautiful and perfectly preportianed ((i cand spell to save my life, sorry)) but if shes is worried about this, then mabye you could suggest working out together, you know, like 20, or 30 pushups/ crunches every night, and find some other really easy excercises, and tell her you will do them if she will do them, and i bet you if you guys keep doing it for a month or so, shell feel a lot better about herself ( added bonous of you staying in shpe too) [ nerdqueen13's advice column | Ask nerdqueen13 A Question ]
BlackBeltxO answered Friday August 12 2005, 2:12 pm: I would say no. Even though she is 15, dieting isnt really good for teenagers going through puberty. And technically she is still going through puberty at 15. I wouldnt use relacore, it may mess up her body, although no website or relacore info would say that because they just want to sell their product. Slimfast should be okay, but like i said, try not to go too hard on the diet. You best bet is eating right and working out. If the gaining weight is all because of stress then there is no reason to take dietary pills anyways. Just working out and eating right should be fine. I know its hard when you first go through it, but eventually everything will work out. Just be there for her, and help her through it. Maybe eat right & workout with her. It always feels good to have some company. Your a good friend though for caring... the world needs more of them. [ BlackBeltxO's advice column | Ask BlackBeltxO A Question ]

xomegaroni answered Friday August 12 2005, 1:11 pm: tell her not to take it. if you aren't sure, then don't let her juss try it. there's much more healthier ways to lose weight than that and i know how to do it. if you need more help on ways, other than diet pills, etc. ill be glad to help. im pretty sure it should only be used for adults.
