Sunburn

Question Posted Friday August 12 2005, 12:38 am

I got sunburn on my cheeks about a week ago and now it's starting to peel. The problem is It's coming off in tiny peices so when I try to get it odd I pull the little hairs on my cheek...is there anyway to get rid of the dead skin without purchasing anything. (I have no loofah.) Exfoliating tips??

Thanx I'l rate appropriately!

When I got really bad sunburn, my mother rubbed the peeling skin off with calamine lotion and a soft towel. Aside from that, I've seen some fancy exfoliating creams that contain sugar in them, but instead of wasting money, why not fill a bowl with sugar and add warm water until it turns into a sort of dense syrup mixture (it should still be grainy; if the sugar is all dissolved, add more) and gently rub this on your face. You shouldn't have any allergic reactions to this and it shouldn't hurt either; if it does, just add more water. But to be on the safe side, always test a bit on the fleshy part of your underarm first and wait for up to an hour to see if anything happens. Good luck.

Just wash your face once or twice daily, in the shower, like stand under the shower head with your face underneath it, and it should come off with the water pressure. or use lotion to make it go away.

You do need to purchase something but don't worry its cheap you could just go to the pharmacy and buy cocoa butter or vaseline use it every single day.Use Neutrogena sunblocker so this won't happen again or they have other sunblockers to avoid it as well. You'll definitely see results with what I told you.Use my advice you won't regret it!

Hey

My grandmother is a doctor so she knows alot about EVERYTHING lol so when i got sunburn on my face last week she made me wash my face with a face Scrub. Since we didn't have any at home she made a homemade one. If you don't have a scrub at home then you should try making one. This is what you need.

1 med. lemon - juice of
2 Tbls. finely ground almonds
1 Tbls. honey

and this is what you do.

-Combine all ingredients.
-Massage mixture into face and neck.
-Leave on for 5 minutes.
-Rinse off with warm water.

That should really help the peeling.

Then after your face drys put Cocoa Butter on it.

hope this helps. It really helped me.

Try rubbing your face with a dry washcloth. It will gently exfoliate the dead skin. Follow up with some moisturizing lotion or vaseline if you have it.
