I really love to sing and my friends say I'm good. I don't think I am all that good though and I want to know some good ways to get better without taking voice lessons because I don't have a lot of money. My goal isn't to be a proffesional singer but I just want to be a source of entertainment to my friends because singing is a huge part of my life. Please answer I'll rate 5's

coolwater answered Thursday August 11 2005, 5:41 am: You can try looking for a scholarship for signing, contests, expose yourself to the world with your talent and as you grow, you'll learn more and more. So go out there and just open your mind. Try singing infront of people and doing what you do best! Go online at google and search for scholarships for singing/music. Post an add up on a bulletin board anywhere! At your shcool maybe! Ask your parents to also help on your great talent. Go for it. Explore whats out there and you'll see! Goodluck! jazabelle answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 7:53 pm: I would make a mix CD of a different range of songs (high, low, pop, classical) and play it all the time and sing along, to test your voice.
You could also hit Karaoke bars to practise. Free and an audience!
Alpha345 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 1:22 pm: Just practice singing to your favorite songs or try joining a choir at your church (if you belong to one) to practice. Learning and practicing with your favorite songs is a good way to improve your vocal talents (especially if you like both music that is high and low, soft or hard in how you use your voice, you can get good practice.)
Do what you love to do with singing, I'm sure you will impress your friends with your voice even if you don't think your good.
I hope this helps and you do what you continue to love to do!

Brunette27 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 12:04 pm: If you have Cable on ON Demand you can take voice lessons! If not just practice singing a lot and do voice exercises!
fatalxheart answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 11:42 am: Well, I've never taken voice lessons but I just got better by "training" my voice to Amy Lee from Evanesence. I would just constantly sing the songs on their "Fallen" album. Also, drink a lot of water.
ViTaChaN answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 11:42 am: Oowh..cool..you can be like Celine Dion , maybe, someday..haha..Well, you don't have to take a voice lessons to be better, just practice on your own..And if you're really good, maybe you can get like a scholarship..Hope I helped!
thinkpink03 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 11:35 am: Well to get better is simple---practice. Although lessons might help, you can also practice alone or with your friends. Do warmup vocals and try making up songs and practicing them everyday. Record how you sound, and play it over and review the things you did and didnt like about your singing. Be your own critic. If you want to hear your friends and families opinion, make your own show at home and invite close people to you. They can tell you what they liked and didnt like to make you even better. Another idea is perform in a talent show so that'll get you used to big audiences. When you have enough experience through the years you can get an agent or even someone big could find you...you never know! ;-)
