Hey guys, this is gonna sound really retarded, but I'll ask anyway. Well it started when my brother asked me if I'd read the harry potter books and I said no, they're really stupid. But then he convinced me to read them, and now I'm on the 5th book. I really like them, it's kind of funny, because I always thought they were stupid. But anyway, I'll get to my question. My best friend likes them too, so we wanna have a harry potter party. I know, we're so stupid! So does anyone know what we can do, other than watch the movies and stuff? We already decided on making shirts. I'm making mine say I love Snape. Haha, don't ask. Is there anything else we can do though? Thank you!!

lol, you've come to the expert in all things Harry Potter. Ironically, before I read them five million times, I thought they were stupid as well ;). Anyways, I'm hosting an HP party at the library where I work, and here's what I'd suggest. Sort your friends into Houses, and then do HP trivia, to win house points. (It would work with just two people, more is cool, but with two you can have a Gryffindor/Slytherin face-off :) ). Discuss your best prophecy theories, if you haven't read the 6th one yet, and theories on Snape...he's one of the most important characters, I like your shirt ;). Also, you'll /never/ guess who the Half-Blood Prince is. Well, back to the party. Make snacks that are related to the book. Cockroach clusters are good, (carmel, chocolate and pretzels mashed together), licorice wands (licorice), go to the page in Prizoner of Azkaban that tells you all the sweets that Honeydukes has, and use your imagination. :) And there's always those Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans...vomit and Horseradish flavored ones are NOT for the weak stomached. Well I like Harry Potter a lot too! One thing you could do is have a harry potter cake and make a bowl full of berttie bots every flavor beans and others like chocolate frogs! Also for cups you could try getting Goblets to drink out of! And maybe you could find some games to play too!

you can eat and get harry potter plates. you can also play dress up and dress up as your favorite caracter. and you can also play name that character or name what book this is from , sort of like sherades. have fun at your party !

And ofcourse here are some of my ideas:
1. dress up as your favorite character obviously.
2. someone can "tell" fortunes
3. Each person gets a "magic wand" when they walk in, maybe it could be made out of a pencil with a sheet of rolled up construction paper over it.
4. Buy some of those hogwarts jelly beans or whatever.
5.decorate your house like hogwarts with candles and stuff.

I love the Harry Potter books ...they're great! Although I have never heard of anyone throwing a Harry Potter party...but hey whatever floats your boat right? Anyways, to make your party more interesting you could have all your friends dress up like characters from the book. Or you can all buy black robes and wands and stuff. If you choose to dress up like characters then make sure people tell you who they are going to be beforehand so there aren't that many repeated costumes. This might sound a bit retarded but...you could get a giant poster of Harry Potter and get lightning bolt stickers and blindfold people and have them stick the sticker closest to his scar. Kind of like pin the tail on the donkey. Hope I helped and have tons of fun :)
