Sorry, i didn't know what category to put this under. lol, okay my question is, if you dont know how to put a tampon in, and you're NOT on yor period. Can you still practice to stick one in you? Because I'm going to a party soon and I should be getting my period soon. And I'm going to have to swim. And I just need to know how to put a tampon in. So could I practice, while I'm not on my period? What would it do?
xRoOxiSxBlOnDex answered Thursday August 4 2005, 12:34 am: It shouldn't do anything to you. There's always the chance of getting Toxic Shock Syndrome, but that is EXTREMELY rare. [TSS is something you get when you're leaving tampons in constantly, not changing them when you should, etc.] Just try wearing one for a couple of hours, and you should feel a little more comfortable before the party.

DaysGoBy answered Thursday August 4 2005, 12:13 am: You shouldn't... Maybe you could try just one time but doing it while your not on your period then taking it out CAN cause a LOT of pain for a few days. [ DaysGoBy's advice column | Ask DaysGoBy A Question ]

lovemenow_kissmelater answered Wednesday August 3 2005, 10:40 pm: Uhh, i dont think it's a great idea, b/c on the boxes it says you shouldn't do that, but maybe if you practiced only a couple of times that would be okay, b/c i mean its not like its gonna KILL you haha but i would ask your mom first. Another way to make it easier when u put it in is to put some sort of lubricant on the tip of the tampon, trust me it hurts less and makes it easier. hope this helps, have a fun time @ the party! plz rate! :D

Just stick it in there! Lol good luck hon! [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
funkymunky817 answered Wednesday August 3 2005, 10:31 pm: although you could practice but i heard that it raises your chances of toxic shock syndrome. so if you are going to practice i would only leave it in for about 5 minutes or so.
TheOldOne answered Wednesday August 3 2005, 10:31 pm: You can practice. It won't hurt you, although it might be a little harder to use it since you'll be drier than normal.
You probably shouldn't leave it in TOO long, though.
