Naming my fish :D
I recently recieved a goldfish from a friend. It's orange mostly, with clear fints, some black patches, and a blue stripe next to the fin. I THINK it's girl but i'm not sure lol. What should i name it? And is there anything imparticular i should know to help me keep a goldfish content and healthy?

name it MR or Mrs BEFY and just feed it and if his tank or bowl wen it gets dirty clean it

My experience with goldfish, well they died after the 2nd day. But just put it in a regular fish bowl and you can get that at like Wal-Mart with some fish food. If you need help with what kind of fish food there is always the employees to help you :)

Well make it an origanial name not like goldy! name it a name you like but I like the name kisses because of the fish face it looks like it wants to give you a kiss! lol!

ive always wanted a fish!! haha but im not responsible enough to handle one... all i know is feed it a few of those fish food things a day... but only once a day.. bc if you feed em too much theyll die! oops! but for names...

ALWAYS use purified water and let it sit out a day before putting the goldfish in. This gets oxygen in the water. Also, if the fish gets a haze around it and dies, your bowl is contaminated. You can get something at Wal-Mart for that. It's called Ick or Un-Ick or something like that. Never put too much food in the bowl, or the fish WILL gorge itself. Hope I helped.

First of all, sexing (determining the sex) of a goldfish when it's young is virtually impossible. You'd have to wait until it's AT LEAST a year old to figure out how old it is. In order to keep your fish healthy and keeping it alive for more than a week, firstly you need to get a fish tank. The tank needs to have a filter and an air pump. With the filter, it will prevent you from needing to clean the water every other day like you would if it was in a bowl. Feed it every day, to ever other day. You only need to do a SMALL pinch of food once a day. Goldfish normally don't last long at all no matter how hard you try to take care of it. The longest I was able to keep a goldfish with a tank and doing everything I could was about 2 months. Which isn't long for a fish living in a tank. If you go to your local pet store, they will give you many other tips on keeping your fish alive and healthy.

I normally name my fish based on the actual NAME of the fish: EX: I have a Honey Gourami- His name is Honey. I have an Angelfish, Her name is Angel. I have a Baby Blue Gourami- Her name is Baby (Baby blue) and then I have a few other fish that I didn't name, so they're not important.

yah out of all the gold fish it died after i named them so yah know but ne ways you could name it nemo from the movie finding nemo i think thats cute!

I like the name patches....since it has some black patches on it. lol
To take care of a fish, simply change its water every day. Feed it every day. (Check at a pet store to see how much to feed it.) Never feed it too much, because then it will become bloated. But gravel on the bottom of the bowl, and you might want to get a filter for it so it can have fresh clean water.

haha i love goldfish this might sound random but it sounds like a Seymore...even if it is a girl its still a cool name...oh and i had to get this stuff i don't remember what its called but it helps it live longer...and you put like 5 drops in and it really did make my fish live a lot longer.... oh and it helps calm the fish down..i really can't remember what it was called... i bet if you go to a local pet shop and ask them they will know where to find it...
