ComplicatedParadise answered Wednesday September 14 2005, 11:28 am: I believe in Spirits and such, sometimes I do have my doubts though. There are so many explanations out there for this stuff, it really is just based on opinion and your own belief. I know there is no facts that they do exsist, but then again there isn't any facts that they don't exsist.
As for the Ouiji board, I personally have never played it but I watched my Aunt play it in her home. It was very strange. She asked if anyone had died in her house, and they said yes. She asked their name and they gave it to her, etc etc. Alot of weird things happened to, the power went out, the candles blew out, and then the stove burner flipped itself on.
I do believe though that the Ouiji board is a mix of our mind and spirit. Our mind can play so many tricks on us, and if we believe that it will come true and then see something actually happen we automatically get scared and think it could be a spirit when it's only a coincidence or our minds tricking us. HERExiSZxADViC3x0O answered Sunday July 24 2005, 1:08 pm: Well , i do actually do believe them but thats just me. i once tried to contact my step brother who commited suicide. i asked him questions like , "why did you do it?." "whats it like in heaven?" "is this really you?" .. and its totally scary. right when i got the answer to my last question , the lights flickered a few times then all the power went out. i ran upstairs to my step sister and we called our mom on her cell. we walked back downstairs to light some candles and suddenly, the music was BLASTiNG in my step brothers room ( the dead one ) we were so scared. we ran outside and ran to our neighbors. after that, i never touched an ouiji board and i dont plan to. it`s not exactly "safe" because i believe the spirits stay with you in your room. hope i helped ( and sorry if this freaked u out ) <33 [ HERExiSZxADViC3x0O's advice column | Ask HERExiSZxADViC3x0O A Question ]
Simply_Jess answered Sunday July 24 2005, 11:51 am: I have an ouiji bored myself. I tried contacting my dead uncle who had killed himself at a very young age. I wanted to ask him questions of how he grew up and why he had done it. I did it once when I was all alone, I got freaked out because when you ouiji you supposevly brings back spirit from the after world. The only problem with that is that the spirits can get stuch in the mortal world and can't return to their afterlife. If they get stuck they supposebly haunt the living, especially if it's a bad spirit. I wouldn't say its a good idea to do all the time and I wouldn't do it in a house because the spirits will stay there. I would do it in an open area where not much people go. I'm not really sure if it works, but there is a possibility if you do it correctly. I would say that some is in your minds. When I did my ouiji board i heard people whispering in my house and a little girl screaming for the strangest reason. I think there are spitits in my room for doing that, and only in my room nowhere else. I put my ouiji bored in my closet and whenever I see it my stomach turns and i get a cold sweat it freaks me out but i still ache to do it just because there are so many questions i want to know.
ncblondie answered Sunday July 24 2005, 3:01 am: I think a lot depends on what YOU believe. If you believe in the board, then chances are it will seem very real to you. On the other hand, someone firmly rooted in science and reality would say it's all just entertainment.
It's possible that what you asked was going to come true anyway and it was a simple coincidence that the board said it would. I've also found that most people take the board as a joke and sometimes make the thing move simply to get a rise out of someone.
Our minds are powerful sensory organs that often make us believe the unbelievable. Think of someone in a desert seeing a mirage. Even though you know it's just an illusion, to them the mirage is very real.
I have played with the board before but nothing freaky happened since my friend's mother came in and upon seeing what we were doing told us we shouldn't play with things we didn't understand and then took it away.
Mackenzie answered Sunday July 24 2005, 2:05 am: I've never had a "freaky" experience at all while playing. I DO believe it's safe to play, but in MY opinion.. I think it's all in your head. I just think people hype themselves up so much and become so nervous they start to freak themselves out unnecessarily. :) [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
IndieKidsCanRock answered Sunday July 24 2005, 1:21 am: ♥I don't know much about this. I don't really believe in spirits, but i'm not sure yet. I have never played with a Ouiji board, but i've known alot of people that have. Some certain members in my family have had bad experiences with them (they don't talk about it) so I can't really tell you if it's safe. I imagine that if spirits and ghosts are in fact real, companies wouldn't stalk their shelves with a dangerous product. I personally just think it's your mind.
