Hey...I was wondering if I was having normal period pain or not. I have a slight fever, not very high. And I'm having pains in my stomach (everywhere not just in the lower part) and some back pain. I'm getting headaches and after I eat I feel like I'm about to throw up. Plus I'm suffering from a loss of appitite. I should have started by now but i'm a little late. Is this normal?

If you are sexually active there are contraception pills that can help reducing period pains.
Good luck! x [ Dr_Aggeklint's advice column | Ask Dr_Aggeklint A Question ]
ncblondie answered Thursday July 21 2005, 8:51 pm: The stomach and back pain are normal period pain. Some women do have an upset stomach right before they start since the hormones are going crazy. If you're feeling sick, you're not going to have an appetite. Changes in hormones can cause the headache.
If it doesn't clear up in a couple days or you don't start your period in the next week, I would go to the doctor for a checkup just to rule an underlying condition out. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
t0xicParadiSe answered Thursday July 21 2005, 8:15 pm: i think you should go talk to your doctor because having pains in your stomach everywhere, having a slight fever, the lose of appetite and feeling like your going to throw up are not signs of normal period pain maybe it doesnt even have to do with your period
go to your doctor for a checkup
brittany_x31 answered Thursday July 21 2005, 8:11 pm: no it is not normal you need to talk to your doctor he will tell you every thing about this and what yuo should do ask him if this is normal this could also mean that you are pregnant because i had a friend and she had the exact problem she went to the doctor and they gave her medicine for it to make her feel better but she was pregnant I am not trying to scare you because there could be a big possibility that you are not you may be having normal teenage problems but i would go and talk to your doctor just to make sure that you are okay

To ease the pain and discomfoRt, you have many options heRe: It's well known that RegulaR physical activity helps Reduce the cRamping in some women, so theRe's an idea. You could also tRy taking a waRm bath and using aRomatheRapy. Applying a heating pad on youR loweR abdomen oR back should do wondeRs. If you don't have a heating pad, you can make one by simply filling a sock with Rice and heating it in the micRowave foR a few minutes [must sound silly, but if the cRamps get bad enough, it just might be woRth it]. Also, many women staRt taking pills aRound the clock fRom the time the cycle staRts, until it ends. Any pain killeR will do, but I Reccommend IbupRofen, ExtRa StRength Advil oR Midol -- it's also best to take medication will a meal, that way the Risk of stomach discomfoRt is slimmed. Teza answered Thursday July 21 2005, 6:18 pm: I dont think that its just your period. I understand the pain in the stomach which are cramps. The way you get rid of cramps is just drink some milk and rest. When ever I was on my period I feel weak and everything so thats normal. I had headaches but you just need to take a pill and take a nap. It works and when you wake up take a shower. It seems like you have a flu or a cold.
