Now I'm gaining weight-and fast. I am on birth control and that could be one of the reasons-but I'm also not in as many sports as i once was.
I'm not fat-but I feel as if i am overweight. I am 5'9 and i weigh 130.
Psycologically-I want to stop eating. I eat something fattening-and then I decide not to eat for the rest of the day.
I can't shake this-and I really just want to lose weight. I run every day-but it soon ended-I just couldn't do it anymore. I have horrible back problems. I try and eat heathy-but i still feel fat.
Sorry.
Please help..

Nevaeh314 answered Sunday July 24 2005, 2:14 am: If you're 5'9 and weigh 130, you're even a little underweight compared to those BMI charts that doctors give out. But, it sounds like you might have a slight eating disorder, and eating disorders stem more from a psychological perception of one's self and one's life than just feeling fat. I would suggest talking to a parent, or maybe your doctor, about your feelings about eating. He/she can probably suggest a meal plan that would both make you healthy and lean, and probably suggest a counselor if you're still stressing about what you eat. If you don't feel like you're obsessing over it, or don't feel like it could be an eating disorder, I would just monitor carefully what you eat throughout the day; make sure it's a well-balanced diet, plenty of fruits and vegetables, and low on salt and sugar, which can make you feel lazy and lethargic. Fruits and veggies, on the other hand, make you feel energetic and happy. Celery is especially good for your metabolism, as well as broccoli.
Try not to feel like you're fat, I'm six inches shorter than you and weigh the same thing, and my doctor says that it's the weight I should be at.
Hope this helps!

you may feel that way because you were really skinny and now you are gaining weight fast. but that is perfect weight, or moreless underweight. but you should do a exercise that gains muscle so you would look healthy and in shape. [ pinkfairy1773's advice column | Ask pinkfairy1773 A Question ]
Sporkster answered Thursday July 21 2005, 8:02 pm: Weighing 130 pounds while being 5' 9" tall is perfectly normal.
I think it's probably just psycological, but if you feel like you're really getting flabby just watch your eating habits and exercise!
Eating habits for a healthy body include having three square meals a day, eating heathy foods at those meals, and going light on sugary or fatty snacks.
Here's one day of healthy meals.
Breakfast
Milk or orange juice
Cheese toast
Apple slices or some other kind of fruit
Eggs
Oatmeal
Lunch
Milk, orange juice, or some other fruit juice
Turkey on whole grain bread
Celery with ranch dressing or peanut butter
Grapes
Crackers with cheese
Dinner
Milk, orange juice, water, some other fruit juice
Grilled chicken breast
Sweet peas
Creamed potatoes
Bread roll
Good desserts would be:
Grapes
Apple slices with peanut butter
Plain popcorn
One scoop of vanilla ice cream
Back problems? Ouch. Back problems sucketh nuts. Exercising with back problems can sometimes be tough, but they're not impossible.
To start off, walk every day for about thirty minutes. Walk at a slow pace first, then gradually build up to a power walk. You'd be suprised at how good walking is for your heart and body.
Please don't stop eating because you want to lose weight. It won't help at all, and it'll make you sick.
I hope my advice helps you, and that your back problems get better soon.

cheersweetie answered Thursday July 21 2005, 10:32 am: really you just need to start eating healthier. your motabilism is probably slowing down now that your on the pill. whatever you do... dont stop eating period! its bad enough what your doing now but you could die from going anorexic! you should try to eat normall. if you feel like you ate something that was a little fatning dont stress about it.. if you feel you ate something really fatning try going on the run again. if this doesnt work you should talk to your parents about going off the pill. maybe your too young to take it.
ncblondie answered Thursday July 21 2005, 9:42 am: Actually when I checked your height against a healthy weight chart, you're a few pounds underweight. It's natural to gain a few pounds when you first go on the birth control pill but it will even out once the hormones get regulated.
It seems to me that you have a poor body image of yourself. Talk your parents and your doctor about this as this can lead to extremely dangerous health decisions such as anorexia and bulimia. They can help you decide if you really do need to lose weight and how to best go about it safely. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
