my faith
Hi my name is Bill. Im 15 and I currently attend a christian church. As a baby my parents werent married, my mom ran away, my dad couldnt afford a baby soo he left me with his parents. I grew up with my grandparents till right before my 15th b-day when my grandma died from carcinoid cancer. after that i weant to live with my dad. instead of being distanced from God I feel closer. my pastor said im the strongest person he's met. what does he mean by that? by the way i want to go to olivet collage and become a youth pastor myself.

I think that it is awesome that you want to become a Pastor. Most people would stop Worshipping God if they go through with what u went through. Your Pastor means that most people would blame or curse God and all you do is get closer. That is a really great complaint coming from your pastor or anyone for that matter. It's great that you want to go to college to become a Pastor. I plan to attend Baptist Bible College so I can be in the Ministry. I will keep you in my Prayers and God Bless You!

that is awesome that you want to become a pastor.! im pretty sure from what your pastor said by being the strongest person's he's met he is meaning that because you've lived though both your parents giving you away and your grandmas' death and dealing with it by getting a stronger connection with God.

What I get from what your pastor said is that considering all you've been through... you're still so strong in God. Most people tend to blame God for stuff that goes wrong and become depressed, but you haven't and that's a good thing. Keep strong with God and Good luck on the youth pastor thing

A friend of mine was driving to a class one day this year and a friend of his in the car ahead of him was T-boned, he watched the girl in the car die and since then he has completely denounced his christian faith - told me for the first time last night that he has completely stopped practicing christianity and is now an agnostic. I find the agnostic thing hard to believe because he had been knocking my religion only a week prior. For not giving up your faith because of the bad things that happened to you - for not doing what so many other people have done and just think "if there was a god, he may have prevented this" you have stuck with what you believe in and its fairly commendable. I don't have a lot of stock in religion, I am a buddhist and while I practice theres still always that little athiestic side to me - I grew up a christian so I know what its like to let it go. People have their own reasons for doing what they do, and as it goes 'you are only given as much as you can handle'. He feels you have handled it in a responsible way, and therefore he considers you a strong person - in the religious sense, just because you still believe in god doesn't mean you can throw cars.
As far as I know only the dead religious figureheads have super-powers.

awwww ur soo sweet. i wish the world had some more good guys like you. the pastor means that you have a great personality and are close to god. also that he just feels close to you and he really thinks highly of you. you really are a great person to go through all that. i hope the best for you in life and i hope you go far. by the way...im christian myself and its great that you want to become a youth pastor. i think thts awesome.just keep doin what ur doin...yeah leave me a message.

Most people when something bad occurs in their life, they become very angry with God. Most people don't handle the loss of someone very well. I think he means that you must have a lot of faith to be able to become even closer to God. Good luck with everything and if you never need anything feel free to ask!!

Im sorry about your grandma. I think your pastor meant that since you have been through a lot in your life and dealing with such things that you are really strong and even tho you had your ups and downs that you still continued strong. I guess wat the pastor says is that you have been through a lot, more then kids our age should go through, and instead of running away from God, you became closer, when many others would have detested him. You want to become a youth pastor when many others would have told kids " Stay away from God and he will not hurt you " . I give you props 4 stuckin to God and even becoming closer.
