When I would sit in the tub for like 30-60 minutes, I would notice that the water would get gritty and then I would rub my skin and it would come off!!!!!! Then there was a lot of DIRT or something on the sides or the tub when I got out, is this normal!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Thanks in advance for helping me (IF YOU DECIDE TO BE RUDE THEN I WON'T EVEN RATE YOU!!!!)
You could either take a quick shower before you bath (as we do in Sweden cause we don't like lying in our own dirty water) or maybe your bath water is too hot.
XxSouthernGurlie09xX answered Thursday July 21 2005, 2:20 am: Yes this is normal
dead skin cells come off very easily..it may be different for differnent people but you dont have to worry
everything is good lol
--Hope it helped--
Nevaeh314 answered Thursday July 21 2005, 1:36 am: Yes, that's perfectly normal. The skin coming off is dead skin; your body is more readily able to exfoliate dead skin when it's wet or waterlogged. The dirt isn't necessarily all from you, it's probably a combination of the dirt already inside the tub, and other little grimy things in the bathroom.;) Don't worry, you're still getting squeaky clean :)

mushoku answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 1:47 pm: It's just dead skin. Unless you stay in for hours, but even then I don't know as I've only ever soaked for an hour.
It's dead skin, sweat, and dirt. If you like to soak, I would suggest doing baths the way the Japanese do - wash, rinse, then enter the bath. The only difference would be shower, rinse, draw a bath, and soak.
Besides the exfoliating soap, they make other things to replace wash-cloths. One of them is something I don't know the name for, but it's a poofy thing made from a net-like material (there's one in the picture here: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)). There are also exfoliating cloths and gloves. [ mushoku's advice column | Ask mushoku A Question ]
tasuki answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 1:40 pm: Ha. Okay, I get it now. Skin is supposed to shed, it's normal. But don't just sit in the tub. You have to take a washcloth or sponge, rub soap all over it and scrub every part of your body.
No, definitely didn't steal the answer. But atfirst I thought you meant that your skin was actually falling off in the water. O.O [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]
VixenDark answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 11:36 am: It may be dead skin. So don't worry to much.
Dr_Joseph answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 11:21 am: I wouldn't say that it's normal, unless you've been out working in a field all day.
But then why would you just sit in the bath waiting for the dirt to fall off??
Try being a bit more pro-active and use a brush or sponge along with a nice soapy bubble bath.
Hope this help. [ Dr_Joseph's advice column | Ask Dr_Joseph A Question ]

one_of_a_kind_chicka answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 10:13 am: No its normal, your dry skin is just coming off, so keep taking baths because it is good to get all of that dry dead skin of.
HugsandKisses answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 10:11 am: Yup on every bath tub you get dirt on the side, alot of clenaig products now specilivze for that, and yes its normal for your skin to "rub of" its just dead skin. Its COMPLETELY normal!
Like I said tho if you want to get ri of the dirt on the side just go to the cleaning section of any store and they have soaps nad stuff.
ncblondie answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 10:09 am: It's natural for your skin to shed. It may look like dirt, and some may be, but it's usually just the dead skin cells in the water. New skin cells are created every day and that's the body's way of getting rid of the old.
Mackenzie answered Wednesday July 20 2005, 10:03 am: Hun, it all depends. How should *WE* know how dirty *YOU* are, ya know??? We couldn't possibly. It's none of our business to begin with. Do you shower often?? Showers should be taken daily. It's fine for your skin to "rub off"; it's just old, dead skin cells; everyone has them, and it happens to everyone. It's perfectly "normal" - you have NOTHING to worrie about.. [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
