i know romance novels like Barbara Cartland and Jude Devereaux and Nora Roberts are crappy...then why do they get published? How do they actually get it approved?!

some people actually like what they write, and the people that edit and publish those books like them. i totally agree with you, but that is how it is.

well first off they arent crappy books. i love each and everyone of those authors. just because you may not be like the "romantic type " or w/e doesnt mean the books are crappy. i mean when you truthfully read some like Jude for example there is SO much history in those books. like real things that happened in time. and personaly i like learning about that.you can see how people lived back then..and stuff of that nature. thats just like im not a fan of murder mysteries but i dont go around calling them crappy. because thats kinda mean haha but they get published because there are so many other females in the world such as myself who appreciate the literature they provide. dont be so judgemental about them though. i mean if you took the time to read one youd see that they are worthwhile

Have you ever actually read one of their books? While romances aren't for some people, there are many women and men that enjoy them. Try one so you can see for yourself if it's really crappy.

I work at a bookstore and i totally agree about romance novels being crappy. but they're are tons of people out there who totally dig them!! i mean everday i have someone ask me where to find them. so they get published because i know its hard to believe but people like them and they sell really good!!
