purplegirl927 answered Thursday July 14 2005, 6:48 pm: there is always a risk when you put a hole in your body that isn't supposed to be there. i would ask a professional what the worst is that could happen and then decide if you want to risk it. MyHappyShoe answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 2:56 pm: a lip piercing can damage your nerves if the people that do it aren't careful about it. Also, you can get a gum disease if you don't clean it like you should. If no one's advice works for you then you can always go to ask.com and type in Risks of lip piercings or something like that! Hope I helped! [ MyHappyShoe's advice column | Ask MyHappyShoe A Question ]

Ask as many questions as you can think of.. if they can answer it.. and its in paragraph form .. then you're good to go .. but .. if there like well.. we arnt quite sure.. its different on everyone.. then no dont get it done.. it doesnt hurt.. the only way it can hurt is if you think it will .. haha.. and when you get it done.. ask them what the ring is made of.. make sure its a high quality medal .. that was shipped right from the factory to the place ur getting it done at.. and make sure u clean it twice a day.. going in a ppol is fine.. but dont go into a hot tub for atleast 10 days.. ora lake.. due to the bacteria that lives on top.. the ocean is also a good place to go .. the salt water really helps clean out ne germs.. well i hope my advice helps
ncblondie answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 12:57 pm: There is a risk of infection by piercing your lip since the mouth is full of bacteria. Also since most people tend to play with their piercings at first you can transfer more bacteria to your mouth. It can also cause nerve damage if not done correctly. If you do decide to go ahead with the piercing, go to a doctor or a licensed piercer for the procedure. These people are trained in how to avoid the nerves that could cause damage and also avoiding infection. Hope this helps. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]

MummuM answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 1:55 am: If you go to a clean place to get it done and the person knows what they're doing, you'll be fine. Before you even get it done, go around to some places that does pericings. Ask about the Lip pericings, just to get some information about it all. Look around the shop a bit to, you want the place to be clean, not dirty. Do your research and I'm sure everything will go good. And when you do get it periced make sure you clean it good, so you don't get any infections. But I'm sure when you get it done they will tell you everything you need to know. You'll be fine!
