dress code
at my school we have to wear collared shirt, with only 2 buttons unbuttoned. we can wear jeans or skirts, but the skirts have to be longer than 2 inches above our knees. i like to dress originally, and cant stand the thought of going to school looking exactly like everyone else. also i live on an island, so whenever you buy a shirt someone else in your school probably bought it too... and with this collared shirt rule, like 9 or 10 people end up with the exact same shirt. does anyone have any suggestions for interesting ways to make my outfits less boring?

go to abercrombie for the polos ... wear like a cute shirt under it you can pull down so its like layered also buy some cute jeans from abercrombie :-D!

lets see.. if you wanna be a little more different then the rest, try buying something that looks different, but then possibly fix it up to make it feel more, you. Try to make your clothes look a little more, presentable, u know? Do something daring that no one could possibly think of. Go to a local store that may sell fabrics, and buttons and all that kind of stuff. Ask your mom to help you out and try changing something that everyone seemed to have, to something that fits your own personality. But don`t make it too, over the edge u know, because it still is part of the dress code. Just let your creativity run wild!!

buy a bunch of plain collared shirts and then "spice" them up a little bit. Take patches and things and add to the shirt. Chances are no one is going to design the shirt the same way you do. So it will be completly you.

If you stray from your island (which I'm going to assume you do regularly, because not many islands have regular deliveries of basic necessities) try to find a vintage shop, thrift shop, or just a funky, hole in the wall type of place. That type of atmosphere is great for finding funky, eclectic jewelry, scarves, hats, shoes, and pretty much anything else. If you're on a budget, or know that that probably isn't an option for you, try to find a colorful scarf around where you are now. Tying that in your hair, around your neck, on your wrist, is pretty much guaranteed to start some kind of fad.
If you're artistically gifted, (actually, you don't even have to be) try stenciling a cool design on a messenger bag or your backpack for something original and very "you". If you go to a library or book store, they should have numerous books on crafts for clothes and accessories that you can definitely make on a budget. And if you don't have a budget, you'll have more money for additional crafts!

Buy different color collared shirts. Dress them up with maybe patches? Tye dye a white one? Try shopping at a store no one goes to, of one where its hard to find 2 of the same thing (ex: forever 21). Also, try cutting the sleves. Also, you can wear a very colorful high cut shirt on the underneath. Decorate your jeans! Use markers, glitter, and such from your arts and crafts store. Buy original skirts from places like forever 21.

COLORS: unique colors that show origionality
TRAVELING: if you ever go somewhere on vacation go to some local stores to find clothes no one at home will have

hey! we have to wear uniforms at me school! we can only wear khaki or navy blue pants and only white, light blue, navy blue, or gold collared shirts. im guessin you can wear any kind of collared shirt, like any color, as long as it has a collar? if so, order a few shirts online so you kno for a fact no one else will have them. if they have to be a certain color, then i wouldnt worry about tryin to be different. theres def. no way you can be! trust me, i am talkin from experience! good luck tho!

BE CREATIVE! buy white shirts and tye dye them or use fabric paint..GO CRAZY! u can go online and buy iron ons from anything like music to cartoon characters! JUst be creative! Get friends to sign the shirts, or sign ur jeans! just express urself!

you could customize your shirts by having them airbrushed or u can stain thm to be a different color. if you really want to be different, try tie-dying them.

Test the limits, thats what I did with my uniform. Add crazy buttons, zippers, stripes of fun material. (I made underbust corsets and wore them ontop of my blouse) Wear crazy socks or stockings. Mismatch your laces. Invest in wigs if you want (I did!)
Push the rules hard, all the time. Yes you will get in some trouble. But it is worth it to be yourself and be expresive.
