I have writers block, I can't seem to come up with any ideas that will really work. Does anyone know of anything that might help me?

relax, take a hot bath, go for a swim, take a nap, go see a movie, drive around down town, go people watching, take random pictures of things and turn them into a story (ive done that one its awsome, always a funny outcome) you could even try reading some of the qestions that people ask here on advicenators, if you cant find an idea out of that, your just out of luck. you could try something wierd that youve never tried before, like riding a bike or skydiving. i dont know how old you are so i dont know how much of this would work. i think most of all you just need to relax and let your mind wander. your trying too hard to think of an idea.

yup, go out with a camera, jus walk around, get a bus a taxi, and take pictures of remotely interesting things, and people. then develop them go home and try and fit the people to the things, and make up stories for them or to fit in with your story.

alternatively, go to many of the sites online and have a look at other works and writings for inspiration.

start a diary, read a book, ask friends, family, random questions, set them a little exam and see how they answer.

also make sure you got a character plan before you write about them, if you think of someone interestin for your story, write down everything about them, down to their favourite food, where they like to work out, and how they sit/walk/stand. they dont have to be real people, jus someone who pops up in your head, jus make sure once they've intro'd themselves to you, that you find out everything about them.

hope this helps.

Just start writing down things that pop into your head, and let the randomness take you where it will. Or do it without writing things down, but do it out loud.

ALEXandADRIANA answered Sunday June 26 2005, 4:16 pm:
We do not know what you are writing about, but we would have to suggest writing about something you know a lot about or have experienced. You could take an experience you've had and then add even more drama too it, add characters, and that would be a start.

If you are wanting to research something and then write about it you could research serial killers, the foster care system, abuse, ghosts, drugs, countries, animals, a certain decade...basically anything.

I (Alex) enjoy anything that is horror related. Ad enjoys love stories.

Sorry if this did not help. Goodluck writing though!
