Whenever I'm alone, I keep thinking about how bad the world is and writing dark poems and stuff. Once I nearly cut my wrists with a sharp knife. Do you know any way to help me have a brighter outlook on the world? Thanks. -Elie

It has taken me so long to stop and it doesn't do anything for you except cause lots of problems. Do you really want scars that everyone asks you about when you tan? Not fun... And suicide does nothing, believe me...been there.
I suggest you talk to friends and hangout with people, listen to music, and WRITING is VERY good no matter what kind, it expresses your feelings. and Just everyday hope tomorrow will be better if things aren't so well. katlyn5319 answered Wednesday June 29 2005, 3:58 pm: okay well first of all i dont suggest cutting. i used to do it practicly everyday and it doesnt help. it seems like once you start you cant stop. so please dont follow my footsteps..stop yourself while there is still time. Secondly if you are feeling this down you are probably suffering from depression. tell your parents about it. make them understand that your sick and you need help. then try and find a psychiatrist.. i know this seems like weird or whatver but trust me once they get you on proper medication its like you have a whole new outlook on life..if not then go talk to a counselor or pastor from your church or something..get the feelings out..sometimes just being able to talk about it helps..i know when im feeling down it just helps when i go to confession (im catholic) but no matter what..no matter how hard it gets never try to end your life..i dont know if youve thought about but trust me i tried to end mine and i regret it every day...i almost had to go to a mental hosipitol and such and trust me you dont want to wind up there. finnally if you cant seem to get yourself to talk to anyone else just IM me at Kitkat53190..i know what it feels like..so i hope everything turns out alright for you my dear. I suggest looking on the good side of things and all the good things you have to be thankful for. Thank God for all the people you have that care about you and talk to someone about your cutting. If you keep cutting yourself, then talk to someone professional about this problem. If you only did it once and won't do it again, then just tell yourself NOT to cut. If you have any good friends, talk to them when you're feeling this way, because usually friends can make a girl feel better. If you're not close with anyone in your family, try to get close so you can be happy.

It expresses your feelings in a non harmful way. I advise you to talk to a friend or a family member, whoever you feel comfortable around. Or you could talk to a professional who can help you have a brighter outlook on your life. You should really think about what gets you so upset though. Then you find the root of the problem. I always used to be mad at the oblivious kids that were always really cheery and happy even when they didn't have a whole hell of a lot of reason to be.
Now its the kids that generally don't have it that bad but just think so ill of everything that they are practically suicidal for whatever moronic reason it is that they think these "bad thoughts".
