The medicine was not to make the poop taste better, it was to make it less desirable to your dog. This is normal behavior for dogs.
It's up to you to keep her away from it.
First off, like everyone else has said, you should not leave the stuff in your yard. Leaving it in the yard where she can get into it like she has been is very bad for her. It will lead to her having dirty habits like this.
Dog's are normally very clean animals, but when they have to endure dirtiness like that, they will get bad habits. If you don't keep your yard clean, where she goes outside, then it will only get worse. She will continue to get her paws covered in it.
Secondly, if you haven't had time to clean up your yard, then you should take her out on a leash and keep her away from the piles.
Seriously, you shouldn't let your dog get into this much feces, especially if there are poisonous plants involved. It's up to you as an owner to keep her away from these kind of things.
If you can't handle the responsability of careing for a dog then perhaps you should trade her in for an animal that doesn't require as much care. Perhaps a goldfish? [ selectopaque's advice column | Ask selectopaque A Question ]
Heptune answered Saturday June 18 2005, 1:42 pm: Eating poop is normal for a dog. They like cat poop even more than they like their own. Carnivore poop has a lot of protein in it, and that's what the dogs like about it. Also, anything that smells horrible to a person smells like gourmet dining to a dog, so they will eat not only poop but also anything decaying and rotten they can find, and vomit - their own and anyone else's. Dealing with this is just part of owning a dog.
The best thing to do is scoop up and dispose of her poop as soon as she produces it, so she doesn't have the option of eating it. [ Heptune's advice column | Ask Heptune A Question ]
Michele answered Saturday June 18 2005, 9:23 am: I have seen other dogs do this. It is weird. I don';t think anything can be done to stop them, except that you must clean up the yard so that she doesn't get hold of any and eat it. Invest in a pooper scooper, and clean up after her.

If she keeps doing this you might have to lock her up or trade her in. [ TickledPink's advice column | Ask TickledPink A Question ]
