When I was younger I used to be really skinny because I stayed with my cousins a lot and we were always swimming, running around, or riding bikes. Since then I've gained a lot of weight cause I haven't exercised much. My stomach is flabby and my thighs are kind of big. I want to tone down before school starts up again in August.. so does anyone know any exercises I could do? I'm not saying I'm fat or anything but I've gained about 20 pounds in the past year and I just wanted to tone down some. Thanks. :)
I also have another question about this. I love to dance & I have about four movies that have dancing in them. Does dancing help tone you down any?
TheycallMeBarbie answered Friday July 8 2005, 1:46 am: I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and I have been thin all my life. I eat alot of junk, but as long as i keep dancing, I know i will still be thin. So to answer your question, Yes, if you dance and excercise more, you should be able to tone down. Maybe you should start hanging with your cousins again and start doing what u used to. or if thts impossible, just do it alone. swim, runaround, and ride a bike. I'm am sure if you go on atkins and excercise you'll be able to tone in about a month. [ TheycallMeBarbie's advice column | Ask TheycallMeBarbie A Question ]
danceadvice answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 1:06 pm: Dancing is an excellent way to lose a few pounds. Just look in the phonebook for a studio, go in and try a few classes. other ways to lose weight, um go to a gym maybe, run, do sit ups, crunches etc all that good stuff, and if youre really interested in losing some pounds maybe try a diet, like healthy foods, salad, fruit, veggies etc. hope ive helped!

_eMiLy answered Wednesday June 15 2005, 5:15 pm: Dancing is probably the best excersize you can do.
It's cardio, it's fun and it moves pretty much every muscle in your body. [ _eMiLy's advice column | Ask _eMiLy A Question ]
Deanimal answered Wednesday June 15 2005, 3:20 pm: Dancing is excellent exercise!! For two reasons: it's good cardio, and it's fun -- so you don't get bored and you do it longer.
I made a hip hop dance mix and it is basically my workout tape. It's forty minutes long, and whenever I feel like I could use some exercise, but I can't go running, I turn it on and dance till I'm hot and sweaty. Makes a fantastic work out.

ballerina04 answered Tuesday June 14 2005, 5:08 pm: Dancing will definitely help tone you down!
To tone down (other than dancing), start doing crunches. Do about 25, and then increase the amount each day. Do leg lifts to tone your legs. You can start going on walks or run around a track. Good luck! If you need anything else, feel free to send me something. [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]
Karen answered Tuesday June 14 2005, 5:00 pm: Yup, dancing will definitely help tone your body. Any sport or activity that involves you to move around will help. As for exercises, you can run/jog, run in place, run in water, ride a bike and do squats, lunges, leg lifts, side leg lifts, and so on to tone your thighs and legs. For your stomach, you can also run/jog and do crunches and sit ups to tone that area. Eating healthy also helps. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]

pinkfairy1773 answered Tuesday June 14 2005, 4:56 pm: yes it does help, unless it doesnt have lots of movements...but just do what you used to do. not much of exercising but just go for a bike ride with your CD player or ipod. or if you must exercise, just do the video exercise for 30 min everyday. and stuff like that. and if you got mini stepper or treadmill just do that for 30 min everyday while watching movie or TV so time will pass by faster.
Jogging and bicycle Riding will do WONDERS foR you!!! AnotheR exeRcise that will help TREMENDOUSLY: LEG LIFTS!!!!!!!! To do these, stand up stRaight, and slowly move youR leg -ONLY YOUR LEG- backwaRds. Like, say you'Re going to kick something, but kick BARKWARDS, and DON'T BEND YOUR KNEES!! It's designed to tone youR thighs and ass! Also, pRoviding you cut out white bRead and soda... [if you'Re used to consuming A LOT of it] you can see a diffeRence the fiRst two weeks. My fRiend did it.. and we weRe both shocked to all hell! But of couRse weight loss takes time.... you just have to stay committed, and have the dRive to keep it up. TRy to keep youRself busy... and sleep as often as possible... these things keep youR mind busy and off food. I can't Really say how long it will take; I suppose that diffeRs fRom peRson to peRson. It Really just depends on how much weight you'Re looking to shed. I'd say you could lose 10 to 20 pounds in a month; that's veRy possible. Goodluck to you!! I wish you the best!! Hopefully I've been of some sort of help heRe!! =D [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
xxBrOkEnxx answered Tuesday June 14 2005, 4:51 pm: the best thing is to run. that takes off weight just about anywhere, and eat healthy. or you can run in the pool becausae it helps you lose weight and helps your joints and evertyhing like that. ayeah i think danceing will help because your moving around, but i think it will have to work by moving a lot. and flexability [ xxBrOkEnxx's advice column | Ask xxBrOkEnxx A Question ]
