lol. how do you get people to stop saying lol. i dont mind when something funny is happening but when you're like "i went to the beach today" and the im you get back is "lol." please. it bothers me. ok. sorry... i know thats weird.

Me and my best friend challenged each other to have a conversation without "lol" or "haha". Lets just say, it failed horribly. Theres no real way to get a person to stop saying lol, just ask them how they find that funny, and they'll probably say "idk". Its a habit, and a hard habit to break. Trust me.
Also : I feel that if someone doesn't use lol, i feel like their being rude. Like most people would be like "Idk lol" and someone thats mean or doesn't like you would be like "idk". And to me, i find that rude, but maybe its just a pet peeve.

a lot of times people just say lol because they don't have anything else to say. just don't let it get to you so much. but if you really want them to stop becuase it annoys you THAT much, then just say stuff like "uhh...that wasn't funny..." or "can you please stop saying lol after everything i say? because it sort of annoys me..." they're probably not going to COMPLETELY stop, because it's sort of a habit for them probably, but that'll make them stop a little, and when they do it again just remind them and stuff.

I know what you mean. I'll say whatever and people will IM me back LOL LMAO. It's so annoying. Something you can say is do you have a laughing problem? They'll probably not understand but then say that wasn't really funny. I know it sounds stupid but after a while they'll stop.

After they do that just say thats not funny. Then they will probably be more carful about how they use laugh out loud. If they don't stop start using laugh out loud like they do and when they tell you to stop tell them you were just showing them how they were using laugh out loud! Sorry i have to say laugh out loud they wouldn't let me say the other thing!

you can't stop people from saying something. lol. <-haha i couldn't resist. sorry! most people say that when they have nothing else to say or if they are bored with the conversation. don't talk to people you aren't really friends with online unless you really have something to talk about and this won't happen and you won't seem annoying (i'm not saying that you are, cause how would i know? but sometimes if you IM people you aren't friends with all the time they get annoyed) i hope this helped..i'm sorry i can't really organize my thoughts well right now. =/.
