Punk vs. Goth
What is the difference between being Punk and being Gothic? Is it a style or what? Please explain.

what the previous person said before is right about punk but, gothic is a religion its a different beleif. A lot beleive in sadism and domineering behaviour, but its mainly to do with worshipping and beleiving in the rituals of the prince of darkness, in short punk is a form of rebellion and goth is a religion, a punk would say 'the world is screwing us' and a goth would say 'we are being screwed by the world'

Well, Punk is generally referring to a person who listens to punk music. Its a form of music, like most people said in this post that started with bands like the ramones, sex pistols and such. Punk is somewhat coming back - except most of the mainstream stuff is turning into a pop/punk hybrid. Generally most people that label themselves as a `punk` truly don't understand the concept of being a `punk`. And basically the premise of belonging to the punk `group` destroys the entire message of non-conformity that it gives.
As far as Goths go. There are really two different kinds.
Current mainstream goth are basically a bunch of self-neglected children that feel they have been dealt a bad hand in life, and therefore result to listening to death metal and just plain out being angry all the time. They generally wear black all the time and read corny poetry about death.
Former goths were those kind of counter-culture kids that sat in coffee shops and read books. Its sad where the future is leading.

it depends on wut youre talking about here. punk style and goth style...??? because both can count as styles for like, music, clothes, etc. and in that case there pretty similar but not hte same. if youre talking about goth as in actually being 'gothic', that means you worship the devil (satan).

Goths~ all black, depressed people, music/style

Goths are people who dress in all black.. black hair, lipstick, and peircings.. hard rock

If you like punk music, you can be called punk.
If you like goth music, you can be called goth.
Punk-Ramones, Dead Kennedys, DOA, Sex Pistols, etc.
Goth-NIN, Skinny Puppy, Cradle, Carcass..etc.
But in all, labels are dumb and should be burned.

to me punk is music, but it could mean something else.gothic is like wearing all black, like this girl in my school is goth and she said that she burned the bible and it was the best thing ever, so they might not believe in a god. punk i would say it like skater ish but doesnt skate. i would say they are lables

-baggy clothes
-listenin to punky music
-chains
-peircings
-etc.
goth usually invloves:
-ALL black
-depression
-cutting
-looking and sounding depressed
*pretty much everything BLACK
