Question Posted Sunday May 29 2005, 11:08 pm

I know this sounds stupid, but can you grow from drinking milk every day? Will it assist in your growing period while you are a teen? I'm medium heightwise, and I heard that milk can help.

Contrary to what many people believe, Milk that you buy in a supermarket is not good for you. Milk farmers inject their cows with hormones to make the cows bear more milk- but these hormones are not really good for growing teens. Also, the protien in milk takes out calcium from bones - and inserts less calcuim back into the bones. It's an interesting myth that milk helps bones grow, long term.

What's better is to eat plenty of green, leafy vegetables - such as kale, spinich, broccolli, lettuce, etc. They have lots of calcuim and none of the bad stuff.

Id think so... it makes your bones stronger and if theyre getting stronger, theyd have to get bigger, so id think it might help you grow a little since your bones are growing.

Milk helps you grow and makes your bones strong. Drinking milking everyday will do you alot of good but you might not notice the good its doing to your body and if your growning it can take a while for you to see. Drinking milk doesnt really affect or do anything for your periods.

Milk helps make your bones stronger, since it has calcium, so it can help make you grow.

Milk has calcium which is good for your bones, and therefore is good to have while your growing, but more because it will make your bones strong than that it will make them actually grow more. That's decided by a growth hormone you cant do too much about. But drink milk anyway!

p.s. watercress has lots of calcium too!

Yes, milk can help you grow. Milk contains calcium which makes your bones stonger, which will eventually make you grow.

I hope this helps

gakkuhideto answered Sunday May 29 2005, 11:28 pm:
If it's not organic milk, yes, it will make you grow. This is because the dairy people give hormones to their cows to make them produce more and better milk, and the hormones are in the milk. Then you drink the milk and you get the hormones. Basically, cows are slaves and you are a cow (therefore you are a slave--see the connection?) It's a good reason to become Vegan.

Not to be picky, but why did you rate me a 1? I was giving you sincere advice, not trying to make you feel bad. I think it's important that we wake up and realize what we are really putting into our bodies.
