Shaving at the beach

Question Posted Monday May 23 2005, 1:18 pm

I'm going to the beach in a week and I understand that when you shave your legs, it stings really bad once you get in the ocean. Does Nair sting? If so, are there any other alternatives?

*Yes!* it will sting if you go to the ocean and shave! ut try to shave a day or two before you go and it should be all good. Try using babyoil or something when your done to block your pores up some.AND use a SHARP razor because a dull one will make it worse.Hope I helped. Have fun. SMOOCHES!!

Yes! It will sting if you shave your legs before you get in the salt water. That really sucks. I dont think it will sting as bad if you use a really sharp razor blade, and not a dull one. Make sure you put on mousturizer or some type of lotion. That will fill your pores and let less salt water into the nicks in your skin. Hope I helped

Oh man I hate that! The salt like goes into your legs it hurts so bad. Anyway, I personally don't use nair, but my mom does and when we go on vacation she says that it still stings a little, but not as bad as when you shave. I get my legs waxed and that doesn't hurt at all for me when I get into the ocean, you might want to try getting them waxed, you can even use Nair wax or get them professionally done. If you don't wax, make sure when you get out of the water, to put lotion on your legs to keep them from stinging. You can use lotion or even Aloe, both work just as good.

Your legs don't sting when you're in the ocean, when you shave your legs. I don't know anyone that has ever had that problem. If it does sting, then it won't last long. Nair could make your legs sting in the ocean but it hasn't happened to me yet.

You would have to have freshly shaved your legs for it to be a problem. If its bugging you, slap on some aloe. (without alcohol)

I have never had a problem with my legs stinging, nor do I know anyone that has complained of such a problem. If they do sting it should be minor compaired to stepping on shells and getting salt in your eyes. You could try shaving the night before so your pores have time to close.

From personal experiance, Nair stings and doesn't work. It smells horrible too!

Michele answered Monday May 23 2005, 1:35 pm:
It's not that bad. You'll survive. It's from the salt in the water and it only stings for a minute. I think the cold water will be worse than the stinging.
