Well, I don't know about Herpes, but I know about Genital Herpes. What they told me is that Genital Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease and that it could only be transmitted through blood, semen, breast milk, and vaginal fluids. But either way I hoped I helped! ]
Yea they will know because thers only oral and genital kind of herpes. Oral usually is when you give head so if you have Herpes in your mouth then yea its probablly from that. ♥ ]
well, if u get herpes and u havnt givin ne one head then its one of the other two ]
There are only 2 types of herpes.
One is oral and appears as cold sores or fever blisters. This appears ABOVE the waist.
The other is genital herpes, genital sores or sores BELOW the waist.
The viruses look the same under a microscope, and either CAN affect the opposite side of the body, but most commonly it's oral-top and genital-bottom.
It sounds like you or someone you care about is worried someone else might have been unfaithful. Herpes is not a curable virus, but if you feel you have been exposed it's important to be tested as there is medication which can keep it under control.
Hope I helped. ]
There is herpes simplex and herpes 2 or herpes one and two. Herpes one is a cold sore on your mouth. herpes 2 is genital herpes. I know of only one way to get genital herpes and that is through intercourse. But I have met people who swear they got genital herpes from having oral sex with someone who had a cold sore. I have NEVER heard of anyone getting herpes from the air. Herpes is a virus it lives in humans. It cannot survive in the air. It would be dead in seconds. I know that if a mom has active genital herpes when she gives birth to a baby, that baby could get the virus in it's eye and go blind So when moms are giving birth if they have active herpes, then she has to have a C-Section. So perhaps you could get herpes from saliva if the person has active lesions of cold sores on their mouth. I also know people who have gotten cold sores from kissing a person with cold sores. Having cold sores does NOT mean that you have gential herpes or will get them. If you have a cold sore, well you know it, and you don't have to get tested. If you have a painful sore in your genital area, then you should get it tested so that you will know for sure if you have herpes or not. Yes you can get herpes from having oral sex with some who has active sores on their genital area.
Hope this helps

IT really doesn't matter in a medical sense, how you got the virus. Niether Type 1 or Type 2 are curable. I doubt your doctor will do more than ask just to see if you many be at risk for other sexually transmitted nasties. ]
Herpes Simplex 1-- is usually mild, especially when it infects the lips, face, or genitals.
Herpes Simplex 2-- is widely believed to be a painful, dangerous infection that affects only people with very active sex lives. Some 22% of adult Americans from all backgrounds, income levels, and ethnic groups have it. Like type 1, type 2 is so mild that 2/3 of infected people don't even know they have it. Type 2 rarely causes complications or spreads to other parts of the body.
They are very similar but are easily distinguished by people who preform laboratory tests.
While Herpes can be a frustrating and painful condition for some people, in general the virus is less a medical problem than a social problem. For most of people who have it, genital herpes is no more dangerous than a cold sore. ]
There is no "air born" form of herpes. It's an STD. It is contracted by an exchange of bodily fuids. If you are showing symptoms by your genitals, then the doctor will know you had some form of sexual contact. They will most likely ask you anyways. It's always best to be completely honest with your doctor so they can properly treat you. ]
