Okay, so there's this guy that's been my really good friend for a long time. Last October, I got a crush on him. Then in December, he had a girlfriend, but he told me that he'd liked me since October too, and a week later, he broke up with his girlfriend. But he didn't ask me out until a month later, because he 'didn't want people to think he liked me when he liked his other girlfriend'. So we were 'sort of' going out for about a month, but we never actually went on a date. He asked me out to a carnival, but then he ditched me. Then...worst of all...the school dance. He danced with me once, and then went back to his ex girlfriend and was dancing with HER for the rest of the time. I talked to him and he told me he didn't like me anymore, but we decided to stay friends anyways.
Now, about 3 months later...I think I still like him, but I'm not sure. We're still very good friends. I want him to be happy with whatever girl he goes out with, but I'm jealous at the same time. My heart jumps when I had to kiss him on the cheek for this school performance..and when I fell asleep on his shoulder in the movie theater (with other friends there)...and I feel crap when I see the girl he likes sleeping on his other shoulder, or sitting super close to him. What should I do? How do I get over him? Please help!

i hope i helped. if you wanna talk sometime, im at augustagurrl@yahoo.com

Teza answered Monday May 9 2005, 6:42 pm: Aw! That must of sucked. I think that pretty much every girl has been in that situation and its really not that easy just to forget or get over a guy. It just takes time tho. What he did was really rude and stupid! He seems a little immature! I really think that you shouldnt even worry about this guy. You can do sooo much better and you dont need to put up with him! I know how it feels to just look back at everyhing you both went through before but you will find yourself another boyfriend who will treat you with respect and better then this guy!! Try your best to get over him. Make yourself belive that you have no feelings for him other then friends. Go out and meet new guys! It will keep your mind off of him.. do the things you love to do. Sometimes it will be okay if you just cry about it or something there is nothing wrong with that and every girl does. You just really liked this guy tho so it still might hurt you to see him with other girls! X0` [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]

LilBSUBabe08 answered Monday May 9 2005, 3:21 pm: I am really sorry to hear this. We have all been there! I think it is time for you to move on and try to find someone else. I know this will be hard, but I think it is for the best. This guy obviously likes his ex-girlfriend still and from what you have said, I dont think that is going to change. I am sorry! This is a very hard thing to go through. Just try to find some other guy to like or maybe just hang out with your friends a lot more. Friends can always help you to feel better. Best Of Luck and if you ever need to talk just IM me. My screename is on my Advice Column. Hope I helped! Sorry once again sweetie! [ LilBSUBabe08's advice column | Ask LilBSUBabe08 A Question ]
Nyssa answered Monday May 9 2005, 2:36 pm: I don't think he cares at all. Or at least he doesn't care enough. It seems like he enjoys having two girls who have feelings for him. Do yourself a favor and get over him. Try to spend less time with him and go out and do other things. Spend time with other friends. Try to find other guys to date. sadf16 answered Monday May 9 2005, 1:05 pm: I think the guy you have a crush with is having confused feelings also. One moment he likes you the other he does not and I think he still likes his ex-girlfriend. Maybe the best thing you should do is to just remain friends and try to let go of him. I've suffered in a somewhat the same situation but not really that exactly the same. The guy I liked is also confused and therefore I gave him the time to think. Maybe you should give him space also. To let him think the situation over or to let him choose. If he still goes on with his ex-gf then there are ways to get over the guy
1) start dating other guys
2)concentrate on other more important things than love life
3) Do things that you like best to do and forget him. [ sadf16's advice column | Ask sadf16 A Question ]
Icelynk answered Monday May 9 2005, 12:59 pm: if you really care about this guy and won't hurt him when you're going out, you should just wait for him to like you back. you can't just have dessert whenever you want, you have to have it after dinner. all you'll do by prying him away from his girlfriend is hurt him. if you think it's real, then you shouldn't feel any different later. pass the time until it happens by just hanging out with your friends, and hang out with him a little bit less. Boys always want girls they can't get easily. play hard-to-get
Dancer2kute answered Monday May 9 2005, 12:43 pm: I think you should definently talk to him! If he cares for you at all, he will understand! If not than get over him!
Van_10 answered Monday May 9 2005, 9:27 am: hi there , i think these feeling are really confused, first of all was he the one that revealed his feeling for you or maybe he didnt want to hurt your feeling, but i think you got hurt anyway
i think what you are doing is very good, because from what you wrote ou are not trying to break them up, it shows that you truly love him and that you are a great friend because you love him enough to be happy with the next girl, not persistent on two of you being together , maybe he isnt ready for a staedy relationship because he might be scared that he'll end up hurting you and you two wouldnt speak together
ii believe that you truly love him, i don't know about any way you can get over someone, just give it time and i know that its not easy [ Van_10's advice column | Ask Van_10 A Question ]
