I've been playing lacrosse to, so its not like i dont have any exercise.. but it sucks because I've lost weight before, and i want to lose it again to look good this summer when i go back to california to visit friends and family. I always tell myself, 'okay today im going to not eat fatty foods and work 29835 times harder in practice and run when i get home' but i never pull through with it. I need some will power or something that will help me actually LOSE THE WEIGHT, because i hate feeling like im FAT. I want to wear a size 3 in pants again, i wear a 5 and sometimes a 7 depends on the pants, and i want to look good in a bikini.. can someone please help me to get some will power to actually go through with losing weight and what should i eat? sorry it's sooooo long..
Jellybellybabe answered Friday May 6 2005, 2:33 pm: South Beach Diet. It's so awesome. It helps you change the way you eat. The first two weeks are hell but I lost 10 pounds during them. Seriously go to a bookstore and buy the South Beach Diet book. You will get so much more energy, lose weight, and actually eat healthier. Although with your pant size, how tall are you? You may not want to lose anymore weight if you're over 5'3. South Beach will only help you lose the weight you should be losing. But really it works so good! See if your family will go on it with you. It really helps if other people are motivating you. If you hav any questions about it just IM me at cheesebaginmytea or email me at MCB0112@cs.com
xxBrOkEnxx answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 3:18 pm: since you play a sport you dont have to exercise. just eat healthy. it might help to write down what you eat and how much and see what the problems are. so make a calender or something like that [ xxBrOkEnxx's advice column | Ask xxBrOkEnxx A Question ]
mapetiteodette answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 1:16 pm: If you play lacrosse, you probably have a lot of muscle, not fat. If it is fat, the best thing to do is just to eat low-fat foods, like change from regular yogurt to fat-free, and from 2% or 1% to skim if you haven't already. Eat a lot of vegetables (I know that sounds cheesy, but it works- I've been a vegetarian all my life and never once have I been overweight) and make sure every day for around 30 minutes to 1 hour run on the treadmill at the YMCA or at your house if you have one, or just run around your house, or jog in place, etc. Get exercise every day, and make sure that you don't overexercise- that is, exercise only to the point of discomfort, not to pain.
Good luck:-) [ mapetiteodette's advice column | Ask mapetiteodette A Question ]
Daisy answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 7:14 am: There are a few tips which I learnt from a friend and they really worked. First of all drink 2 litres of water a day. Quite often when you think you are hungry you are actually thirsty so drinking the water will help your cravings. Make sure there are no packets of crisps or sweets in your house or if there are, get your mum to hide them. Eat fruit as that will combat your sugar and carbohydrate cravings. Also try and eat your dinner by 7.30 p.m. this way, you won't go to bed on a full stomach. By going to bed on a full stomach, your body will not have time to digest the food before it starts to shut down to sleep mode and therefore stores the food as fat without breaking it down. By walking or running 25 mins a day also really helps. I did this and it really worked. Good luck x [ Daisy's advice column | Ask Daisy A Question ]
Ask_Kimberly answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 12:31 am: I have some friends that are going through the same situtation and what I have been telling them is to stop telling themselves that they are fat or overweight. If you keep telling yourself that, your self esteem will drop and that'll prevent you to not accomplish your goals that you have set. Everybody has their own body frame and that is what makes them beautiful.

Hey girl, I'm going through the same thing as you right now. I wear a moderately baggy size 5, a fitting 4 and a snug 3 but I want to lose the extra flub also.
If you'd like, we can buddy up and motivate each other. My aim sn is oomilkbubbleoo and my email is mylinhthan@hotmail.com.
As for some pointers, the only thing that is guaranteed to work is to eat right and exercise. If it's the eating habits you're having trouble with, stock your fridge with low fat or fat free substitutes. Another way I heard to increase your metabolism is to eat frequently, like every 4 hours have a small meal or a light snack. Green tea also boosts metabolism.
As far as exercise goes, do a lot of cardio (get your heart rate up) because that's what burns off the calories and the fat. If you want tone also, do toning exercises with light dumbells after you do your cardio and continue in a circut style training. Try to do this three times a week and work your way up. I started at two times a week with two hour sessions and I lost a good six pounds. But now since I just started working and am in school, it's a little hard to manage my time.
