oneandonly345 answered Saturday April 23 2005, 12:56 pm: well if you are putting them in .. and they hurt, you are not putting them in the right way .. it is really hard to explain how to put in a tampon.. but just keep trying .. until it doesn't hurt. or try a smaller one.. or maybe your body just isn't right for tampons.. and that happens to some people.
wish you the best of luck.

sugarhigh0218 answered Friday April 22 2005, 9:05 pm: if this is your first time using a tampon, it's normal for it to hurt a bit, but you should try the slimfits that playtex makes - they're a lot thinner than regular ones, and easier to go in. as for inserting them, try sitting with your legs open wide, and seperate your lips with your fingers, then push the applicator in up towards your lower back, up until the grip on the applicator. then press the smaller tube up to insert it. sometimes if your tampon is causing you discomfort after it's been in for a while, you haven't pushed it far enough in. and don't worry - the rumor about tampons getting "lost inside of you" is completely untrue, and absolutely impossible. Karen answered Friday April 22 2005, 8:00 pm: Is this the first time using and inserting tampons? If so, then it's normal for you to feel pain when you put them in. You need to become used and comfortable with them. Are you using the right size for your period flow? Try using a regular tampon and that will not make you feel any pain. Try squating down if you have to when inserting a tampon. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
