Shy people will usually open up if you talk to them about something they are really interested in.

a lot of guys are shy because they are afraid of rejection..this goes for girls too. So if you really make it obvious that you like him, he should open up. Be extra flirty,ask him to hang out,basically take the front wheel and be in control. once the guy gets the picture your into him, he should break out of his shyness pretty quickly. Maybe get one of your friends..(guy or girl) to tell him "hey i reeeally think (your name) like you"

To make this guy open up, you just need to talk to him and let him get to know and trust you better. If you talk to him about things, he may then talk to you and open up that way.
