Was wondering, does anyone happen to know what you can do/use to get rid of stretch marks? LAst summer I lost a lot of weight really fast because of allergies (every time I ate I'd just vomit, waaay too much mucus in my gut for the stomach to deal with plus food) and now I have stretch marks on my sides. They're kind of unsightly, so I just wanted to know what I could possibly do to get rid of them/decrease visibility.
Additional info, added Tuesday April 12 2005, 5:42 pm: I'm sure im not anorexic/bullemic(sp) The doctor said it was a severe allergic reaction to plant pollens in the air, which Florida has alot of. Post-nasal drip, lots of it, which means more than necesary mucus in the stomach. Plus it only happened that time of the year, come September it all stopped completely. . hailebop answered Wednesday April 13 2005, 8:02 am: In all honesty, stretch marks are pretty resilient. A really rich cocoa butter moisturiser applied daily can help them fade a little, but don't expect miracles - they may fade a bit with cocoa butter and time, but they will probably never vanish completely. Wowitzbrit answered Tuesday April 12 2005, 6:59 pm: Everyone says that coco butter does. But avon has this lotion that really does fade them alot. But if you threw up because of the post nasal drip your not anorexic or bulemic, post nasal drip runs to your stomach which causes your stomcch to feel really sick. I've had it alot, it's not like you wanna throw up, you can't control it. <33

flutterbyme_8i8 answered Tuesday April 12 2005, 5:49 pm: Well sorry to say, but there is nothing you can do to get rid of stretch marks ... except wait for them to start to fade. However, keeping your skin well moisturized can help guard against them. Apply body lotion (like what everyone said about cocoa butter and so forth) after a bath or shower, and give it plenty of time to sink in before dressing. Also, an application of fake tan can be a good disguise for stretch marks that might be on view.
Karen answered Tuesday April 12 2005, 5:42 pm: To get rid of your stetch marks or just fade them, you just need to rub cocoa butter or Vitamin E cream over them and they will eventually fade if you keep on using one of these two things. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
