i decided i need to get into shape. so today i did 100 sit-ups (within 15 minutes.. i know, that's a LONG time =(..). is that too much to start with? does anyone have any other good exercising tips, for your stomach? (besides sit-ups and crunches).
also, can you do sit-ups by laying down and then going up, instead of bending your legs? Because i don't bend my legs.. so maybe it's not considered a sit-up.
thanks in advance!

Try to use the jumprope! 100 is way too many. lower it down though, and just take it day by day, maybe eat a little healthier, like an apple after school everyday. And take breaks too! Work like... 1 or 2 days, and then take a break. A tredmill works out your abs and your legs, and arms if u use LIGHT weights. Walking is a great one to use, because it dosen't really wear you out. make sure u walk, not run and using a bike everyday helps too.
Thanks for saying thanks in advance
You seem really nice ]
you could try v ups...which is basically you lay down with your arms above your head, then you bring both your feet and your arms up at the same time and put your arms in between your legs, then go back down. ]
i think the best way to get a nice stomach is by doin leg lifts. i dont know how many you have to do regularly, but i read somewhere that it's better than doing crunches and sit ups.
a sit up is when your legs are just flat, and crunches are when your knees are bent. they probably both have the same results, but crunches are just easier to do.
and if you're not used to doing sit ups or crunches, you should just start doing like around 20 or so 3 times a day(morning, evening, night) everyday, and then slowly increase the number of sit ups done everytime, and you'll have a nice toned stomach in a few months.. i'm working on toning my stomach too ]
thats very polite of you to thank in advance.
anyway i like u used to be over weight.
first of all 100 to just start exercising is way to many. you start off small like 20 and add 10 for 2 weeks at a time till you get to 50 and if your stomachs strong enough you can do 100. also take a break every two days. like on thursday and friday do exercising and take a break on saturday. also work some jump rope into that. and if you wnat to build muscle on your arms do small weights at first and then build up. also eat right and don't starve or binge and purge. salads good and diet pop works great.MOST IMPORTANTLY REMEBER TO START OFF SMALL AND GRADUALY BUILD UP AS YOU GO!
P.S rate me i need ratings the only questions on my site are from my friends. ]

if you want to get abs, you need to do cardio along with crunches, or your stomach will just get bigger, because muscle will build underneath any fat on your stomach. ]
Um. You shouldnt do sit ups everyday..no 100 isnt too much to start with it you do them in like 25 sit up intervals..if you want you can do 150 sit ups everyday doing 25-50 at a time, then take like a 2 minute break..
And you're supposed to bend your legs so they dont move. And when they arent bent, they do move and help you with your sit-up, which does next to nothing for your stomache.. try putting your legs on a bed or something and lay on the floor and do then..they work pretty well.

Yes, that is too much to start with but if you feel comfortable doing 100 sit ups in a day, then it's alright. If you start to get stomach aches, then go down to 50 sit ups a day and gradually increase the amount you do when you want to. Riding a bike or using those exercise machines that resemble bicycle movement will help tone your stomach. Running or jogging helps too.
I guess you can do those type of sit ups that you mentioned. If you are noticing and feeling your muscles tighten, then that shows you that this is working for you.
