Question Posted Sunday March 27 2005, 10:15 pm

I need some suggestions for a good, reliable car that gets good gas milage and is safe. Don't give me answers with sports cars; insurance bites.

If you are not concerned with purchase price, or can buy 2nd hand, consider a volvo.

HONDA OR TOYOTA

they both get great miliage and pretty trouble free mechanically --if you get regular tuneups and check your fluids regularly.

Saturns. I used to drive one, it got great gas mileage, was very afforadable, and nice to drive. I don't rememeber insurance being too bad on it, either. I really reccommend them, check it out... I hope this helped, good luck with your search for a car!

Mazzdas are great! Thats what I want! Electric/gas, so it's a smooth ride and makes stops at the gas station limited.

Toyota, Honda, Scion (really they're great cars) Pontiac, Chevy, some models of Mazda. I just went to a car show today so I have all this information still fresh in my mind. Fords are okay. BMW's are pretty good with gas milage, but they're expensive. So are Acuras. Hope this helped!
