I dyed my hair yesterday and i always straighten/flat iron my hair and i was wondering if its safe to flat iron it after i dyed it? would it dye it out? my hair is well conditioned so it doesnt look or feel dye but i was just making sure. Thanks!

Sherry answered Sunday March 27 2005, 6:22 pm: Nope it doesnt. Your dye will not go away or anything. So straighten as usual and you'll be fine! =) Thats what I thought too when I dyed my hair but yeah everything went A-Okay. Haha. [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
TR0PiCALX3 answered Sunday March 27 2005, 6:20 pm: Nope! It won't hurt the dye at all. I'm always trying new colors with my hair and I couldn't live without my straightner! Hope I helped! ♥ [ TR0PiCALX3's advice column | Ask TR0PiCALX3 A Question ]
mrs_radcliffe answered Sunday March 27 2005, 5:45 pm: No its not a good idea because it can make your hair dully and less colour, and limp straightening your hair isnt a good idea all the time but its ok not so often!
Karen answered Sunday March 27 2005, 1:07 pm: Yes, it's safe to flat iron your hair after you dyed it. If you straighten your hair everyday for a long time, this will eventually cause your hair to become fried and damage but there are conditioners that you can use that will "fix" your hair. Straightening your hair won't fade away the dye or dye it out so don't worry about that. I dye my hair every 2 months and I use a flat iron to straighten my hair every day and my hair is now becoming dryed but I just use a good leave-in conditioner to make my hair better.

siozeegreat answered Sunday March 27 2005, 1:02 pm: Well, dying your hair and straightening eventually damages your hair over time, so I'm sure that doing it together will definatly kill your hair.
sweetxtragedy answered Sunday March 27 2005, 1:00 pm: yeah you can straighten your hair. do anything you want to it. i do and people actually have started noticing my highlights more now, even though i got them in november? but it doesnt affect them at all [ sweetxtragedy's advice column | Ask sweetxtragedy A Question ]
