[ Answer this question ]

Additional info, added Friday March 25 2005, 4:54 pm:
she told me that she cut 39 times that night, and like 10 of them were so deep that the blood that came out was a deeep blue.

Im glad to say that shes a lot better now. Her bf is coming home from spring break today, and she was up until 5:30 texting with him last night on their cell phones. Im really glad because I dont know what i would do without her.

Thank you all for you're advice!

take her to councilling you dont have to tell anyone, you wont understand why she does it ive been through it to and it was hard to understand why! Let her see that she has a lot of good stuff in her life often people cut because there depressed or unhappy, Make her see that its ok and that your there for her.

luv roxie

You NEED to tell someone. It's not right at all that her dad is abusing her, he's probably one of the reasons she cuts. Try to be there for her too, it's always nice to have someone to confide in. I would say she needs to go to a counselor. You can IM me anytime if you want!

Hope I helped!

you really should tell an adult, sumone you trust (i no this sounds so text book but its true) and i would deff. not tell her dad, her dad is probobly part of the reason she does this and he might get really and angry and do bad stuff, so you really need to get sumone responsible to talk 2 her about this, hope its helps :+)

Okay, if your friend cuts herself, she's obviously in need of A LOT of help. People say that you can not die from cutting yourself, but the truth is that if you cut in the right places, you can. If you can get your friend to talk to you, another friend, or a teacher/guidance counselor/other trusted adult, ACT FAST! People don't realize that all it takes is a blink of an eye, and someone you care about could be gone. Forever. So if you really care about your friend, comfort her and tell her how much you care about her and that you're always there for her. Tell her how much you would miss her if she did commit suicide. You really have to be there for her, and get her to get help, whether its from you, a friend, an adult, or even a professional. Hope I helped, i/m me if you need more advice.

Take your friend to the doctor, she needs medical attention first and foremost. It sounds like she is really depressed and counselling alone probably won't help it, but maybe a combo of counselling and the correct meds will do. There are a lot more f'ed up lives than that, she shouldn't kill herself, that is just really selfish and stupid.

Child protection services and 911 should be called.
This sounds really bad.

Talk to her. Let her know you will always be there for her through thick and thin. All she really needs is someone to be there for her. But if doesn't work no matter how hard you try, try telling an adult who won't make such a big fuss of the situation and won't make her feel like they're ordering her around.

Bring her a knife or gun. Then say. "Choose."

BTW the guns faster.

let her know you`re there for her. when i used to cut myself, i felt like no one cared about me. when i realized how many people loved me and cared about me, i stopped. let her know that it doesn`t solve anything and just be there for her, listen to her, and talk to her.
