So let me get this straight, your going to smoke because you're despressed. ohkay. And when you find out your life is going to be cut short because of smoking youre going to be happy? Dont smoke. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GOOD COMES FROM IT. But anyways you shouldnt do it because it is a harm. and it takes away from your life. You said you dont want a lecture so im gonna give it to you straight: dont do it. xO ali

Look, I'm not going to lecture you, because I know how it is to feel depressed. Smoking just isn't the right answer to cure depression, because you'll get addicted. I think you should encourage your sister to help .. and get help from a friend .. like tell them your problems, and hopefully they will help you. Since you don't want me to go into the thing about how bad smoking is .. I won't. And one more thing, if you have asthma, thats even worse if you smoke! Please don't .. its really disgusting [[ what smoking does and how is smells ]]

If it was legal, I'd slap you upside the head. But it's not, so I'll just offer you some advice. If you're really depressed, go see a doctor, they'll tell you options. If you start smoking, you might not die right away, but you will eventually. Asthma + smoking = 0

ok, ok, No lecture. If I had asthma i'd have been dead long ago.You know that smiley face with the smokin' cig in it's mouth? That's me.I'm a smokin' grandma.Public enemy number 1.
That being said, no lecture honest, just the facts.Having worked in an ER I can tell you, if you have chronic bronchitis or asthma and you smoke.You are gonna spend a lot of time in the ER.IF, you make it that far.This I know for fact.
I do not recommend it.If you don't smoke, don't start.Wish I hadn't.But, no lecture okay.Your decision.:}

If I were you, I wouldn't start smoking. It's more harmful to you than to someone without asthma. You might want to get away from your sister when she smokes too. Second hand smoke is as worse or even more worse than actually smoking. Since you're kind of depressed, can't you turn to an alternative rather than smoking?

Well, if you don't want to die from it then you don't need to start. There is absolutely no reason to start, it is a whaste of money, and it kills you. I mean come on. And on top of you having asthma...you don't really "get used to it", it builds up. Cigarette smoke is an irritant, not an allergen, so you can't just become immune to it. There, I answered.

RoadkillSalad answered Thursday March 24 2005, 12:59 am:
Well remember, there's a surgeon general's warning on the back of the carton, that should give you a hint at what it does. It wouldn't really harm you if you could smoke maybe once a week, but since addiction kicks in, I would say it will. As for a lecture, I won't give you one, but it makes it sound like you've made up your mind and are looking for someone to tell you it will all be Ok, but don't say I haven't warned you.

Unfortunately the results of smoking is death down the line and is harmful to everyone who uses them. Healthy people have enough trouble coping with it's effects as they age, so since you have asthma, I'm assuming the effects would be twice as hard on your lungs.

I won't lecture on how bad smoking is to you, but think of it this way, you will become addicted sooner or later which means you'll need more money to buy cigs for your addiction everyday. The money adds up to a lot girl!

So to answer your question, yes, it would be of harm to you.

Hope I helped!
