13/f Ok i get like really scared and my mom thinks im too young to babysit. I want a job so my mom will let me get a cellphone (my mom is so mean i should hav one already!). Well since i get scared i think about stuff like....What if i was babysitting and someone called and said "Im coming for you" or something like that or if someone came to the house. I know there's a REALLY big chance that wouldnt happen but i cant help it i hav a very wild imagenation. Is there any other good job i could get? or anything that would keep me busy from thinking about stuff like that while babysitting?
I rate!

SaraEliKirk answered Thursday March 17 2005, 12:04 am: Ok first of all dont believe everything you see in movies! Being only 13 theres really no job that you can have (govt. job anyway) Babysitting would be a good job if your mature enough to handle it and have peoples children in your responsibility! If i were you id mow yards or walk dogs or something, I didnt get my cell phone until i was 16, you dont need it unless your driving and away from home alot, i dont think your mom is mean i just think kids are spoiled these days and even a cell phone requires responsibility! Think about it...

Your mom is right on this one.If you're scared you'll scare the kids you're babysitting for and then you'd have a real BIG mess on your hands. So, if you are honestly scared I don't think that is a good idea.
You could mow lawns, rake leaves something like that.Maybe help an older neighbor around the house.Use your imagination! Put up a flyer that you'll do odd jobs. You can think of something.:} [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]

parisnightsx3 answered Wednesday March 16 2005, 6:27 pm: ive been babysitting since i was twelve. it may seem scary at first but you'll get used to it. i always bring my ipod and journal or homework or a magazine or something to keep me occupied after the kids are asleep. i never answer the phone, its easier to just let the machine get it. it also helps if its kids that youre used to, and a house you feel comfortable in. i hope you can get your cellphone, babysitting pays really well if youre good at it, be sure to play with the kids some, and now just sit there.

SimplyMe answered Wednesday March 16 2005, 6:16 pm: You should have one allready, but your Moms too mean? I worked for 3 years to buy a cell phone a pay the bills and what not..Babysitting,.,just lock the doors..and dont act afraid because then the children would get afraid and thats the main idea of your job..uhh there's dog walking..working at a local clubhouse or whatever..bussing at a restaurant..
EJ47 answered Wednesday March 16 2005, 5:46 pm: Please, do not say 'I rate u!' That gets me down so very quickly.
Now, at your age, the chances of anyone hiring you are low. Low low. Babysitting, also too young for. If you're looking for money, then do some chores around the house. Offer to help when and where you can anytime, anywhere. Mow lawns and such. You'll have money before you know it. Also, cell phones arent that necesary...
