Older sister

Question Posted Saturday February 26 2005, 10:53 pm

My older sister is 17 and tonight (a few minutes ago) she came home from her friends house and her room & clothes - everything - reaked soo bad of cigarette smoke. When i confronted her about it she told me "yeah i know, Nikki`s [the girls house she went to] house smells like that." I dont know Nikki that well but should i believe me sister? I mean, i dont even think i need to nark on her. My parents will find out eventually. But, what do i do???

I would say its a good bet she was smoking. Her parents may not find out..although if she came home smelling like smoke and didnt think to cover it up with perfume or something..then yes maybe they wil find out on their own. What you can do is talk to her..let her know as her sister that your concerned and you dont want her to get hooked. Tell her that smoking costs too much money..here in upstate ny its like 5 something for a pack. Also the health risks..etc. If you continuously notice the smell on her in the future..i would tell your parents. Ur sis wont have to know you ratted her out. Jus tell your parents and they can say that they noticed the smell. I wouldnt not do anything about it though..because i've seen too many friends go down the drain because of smoking

it is pretty obvious that she was smoking, you can't just get a lot of smoke on your clothes from going into someone's house that full of smoke, and if she didnt lie then they must've been puffing a very large amount smoke at her.

um...well, maybe YOU should go to Nikki's house and see if it really smells like that. Don't make it obiovos tho. Yet, if it's your sister herself's that's smoking, well, you really can't do anything about it. She's 17, and she should be able to make her own choices about these stuff. BUT..you can always drop her subtle hints about smoking and stuff, like i do with my own sister...i kept on hinting about the absurdness of over-dieting that she finally stopped starving herelf to death ^^.

well chances are she was smoking. cuase the smell of ones clothes doesn't very easily go to anothers persons clothes. a specially if she reaks. so chances are she was smoking and if she wasn't she was 2nd hand smoking, where the other ppl smoke and she inhails wat they exhail.

You should believe your sister when she tells you that she doesn't smoke. My friend used to smoke cigarettes and I would always smell like smoke so it's possible for your sister's clothing to smell if she doesn't smoke. If Nikki's house does smell like that, then it's true and you should believe your sister. If your parents find out, then support your sister and tell them that she doesn't smoke. I don't think your sister would lie to you about something like that.

You should believe your sister when she tells you that she wasn't smoking. Maybe a lot of her friends smoke and she was just hanging out while they were smoking. And if Nikki's house does smell like smoke, it's very possible that your sister smelt because of that. A lot of my friends smoke and I'm always smelling like it. I'd beleive your sister. And if your parents do ask her about it, just be there to back her up!
