how to stay warm? Hi guys,
Me and my husband have just moved into a new house...well, I say new, but it's actually ANCIENT. So ancient that we have no heating whatsoever!! The place was so expensive though that we can't afford to install heating for at least another year. The windows and doorways are all draughty too. So, my question is, as it is so cold at the moment, any tips of keeping warm other than the obvious 'put on another jumper'?

In my house we have heat and everytihng but sometimes my room gets cold and my Dad puts a space heater in there and it heats the room and it makes my room nice and cozy if you get a couple of those ur house would be nice and toasty!!! You can find them at Home Depot or Target ]
you can get a portable heater from like sears or somewhere. hope i helped ]
First of all, I gotta say I feel sorry for you. I hate the cold! Anyway, put on some blankets and sometimes they sell portable heaters that you can just plug into an outlet. Trust me, I have one, and they are very helpful. They're about 30 to 45 dollars. Not that bad. I hope I helped!

Space Heaters. They are not too terribly expencive, and they work, just make sure that you turn it off whenever you leave the room, and dont sleep with them on, because they are a serious fire hasard, they can, and have, burn/burth peoples houses down. you could also try those blankets that you plug into the wall, and its heated, those are tosty. :)
Hope I Helped!!!

get space heaters & lots of fleece & down blankets, and get those little draft-blocker things. i really can't think of anything else .. sorry!! ]
hey, i know what you mean, our furnace broke so we didnt have heat for a while either. What we did was we bought some really inexpensive down blankets. I know it sounds obvious, but down blankets are really warm. They are sorta cold at first, but they warm up to you and they become Extremely warm. Everything else has basically been said. good luck, and stay warm!! oh yea and if you have nothing to do, you can always run! ]
yes there is another way buy those little electric heaters that you plug in the wall there price range is between 20-30$ at target you should buy one for your bedroom or even some other rooms that you spend alot of time in (i have these in my home and they work great)
hope i helped

Go to a appliance store and ask them if they have any mini heaters. Put one in the room you need it to keep warm and it'll do for now.

When my parents first got together, they bought a "make your own rug" kit and used to sit on the sofa and make this rug. It took their minds off the cold and also covered them whilst they were making it. Failing that, hot water bottles and lots of hot chocolate :o) ]
To keep yourself warm in your house, you can light your fire place or oven, if you have one. You can dress yourself with warmer clothing such as thick sweatshirts, socks, mittens, etc. At night, you can plug a few of those electrical heaters and sleep with more than one blanket. Body heat also keeps yourself warm so just stay close to your husband a lot. There are other ways to keep yourself warm, but those are just some. Hope I helped :)

If the place has gas you could put in space heaters. Thats not as expensive as central heating. ]
Try buying one of those little heater things that plug into the outlet. Also maybe turn on the oven and bake something since you don't want the oven to just be on. Your feet have to always be warm. ]
If I was you I would forget that house and buy another house if you do not have the money then you are just doomed and are gonna die from the cold!!! ]
Try putting on a hat - you lose a lot of heat through your head!!
You should also wear slippers, socks, or, even better, bed socks. Extremities, such as hands and feet, can get VERY cold (believe me, I know, we have no heating either ;P), so put on some socks and maybe even some gloves while you're typing on the PC!
You could always go around in a blanket, or pile extra blankets or rugs onto your bed at night!
You can buy relatively cheap draught excluders, too. You can get 'novelty' ones, shaped like giant cuddly toy snakes etc, for kids rooms that are actually cheaper and work much better than the usual brush variety.
Spend some time in your bedroom before going to bed (i.e. during the day) too, because rooms that are lived in more are warmer all the time. I have no idea how or why, but they are :)
And finally...body heat!! Lol, I know it sounds corny, but cuddle up to your husband as much as you can!! :P
Blessed Be,
Rach xxx ]
