liar??

Question Posted Wednesday February 16 2005, 6:38 pm

Ok the other day (I forgot how we came up on the subject)my friend and I were talking about how much we weighed. I told her first, but I am pretty skinny. Well, she told me she only weighed 2 more pounds than me (92). I think she is lying, however (maybe she feels embarassed?), because she wears a size five in jeans (I wear a 0). Can she really only weigh 2 more pounds than me, and yet still wear jeans way bigger than me? b/c me and this girl are REALLY good friends & i she NEVER lies to me (and i would hate for her to start!!) Thanks I will rate 5's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kids today are way too hung up on weight. Unless you're under 5', you should NOT weigh 90 lbs. And you're making it sound like a size 5 is just a huge size and everyone should be a size 0 like you. A size 0 is just...gross if you ask me. You need to gain some weight...quick. The lying is the least of your worries. From how hung up on it you sound, she probably lied to avoid the disgusted look on your face when she told her her real weight...oh the dreaded size 5 jeans!!

THat is like soo how m and my best friend are..anyways, why dont you tell her that it doesnt matter to you how much she weighs, because you are her friend...etc. if you dont feel like you should do that, then just let it, she is probly embarrassed because you are 5 sizes different. I wouldnt push it tho!

Is your friend taller than you? I think she may have been embarrassed, but Im sure its nothing to worry about, its jus weight. She may have felt "fat" because you weigh less than her.

Yeah it is possible, it depends on her height and everything too, but maybe that is not her EXACT weight, maybe she weighs a little more or something, but it shouldn't matter, she might ahve like you said been embarrrassed. If she DID lie to you, dont worry about it, because weight is an insecurity and she probably didnt want to embarras herself, lik you b lik: oh i weigh 90 and then her have to say "yah i weigh 105" or whatever.

I don't think she is lying, your friend just might have bigger hips than you or something. Two of my friends wear the same size jeans as I do and I'm smaller than both of them & I weigh less than them. So it's possible to be two pounds heavier with a bigger jean size.

Yeah it's possible.. I weigh the same as you and I can wear a size 0, 1 or 3 in jeans.. so if she weighs 2 pounds more she could probably wear a 5. Sometimes jeans depend on your hips and stuff like that. Plus, does it really matter that much? She might have been embarrased, but you guys are friends, you said so yourself.. if she isn't quite being honest about her weight, it really shouldn't matter. A lot of people hate telling how much they weigh. But I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. She's probably being honest, so I wouldn't worry too much about it..

Hope I helped!

I think it is possible for her to only be a couple pounds heavier than you, because I have friends who wear jeans like 3 sizes bigger than me and weigh only a couple pounds more. She also could have lied because she feels embarrassed that you weigh so much less then her --Alex

Your friend probably felt embaressed.. although you shouldn't feel bad. The same thing happened to me a week ago or so with my bestfriend. It is not really like she lied to you.. of course a lie is a lie but its not not a conversation everyone ould feel comfertable talking about. It is impossible that she weighs 2 more pounds than you... but its no reason to fight over.

swimbabe1092 answered Wednesday February 16 2005, 6:57 pm:
Yea it is possible. I am 92lbs. 5" 2' (pretty short) and were a 0. My friend is 5" 6' and she is just as skinny as me but lots taller. So she needs to were a size 4. she weighs 3 in. more! so there is a chance that your friend is 94 lbs. she also might have said she's 94 lbs. when she's really 95. It's not a big deal it's only 1 lb. havent u ever exagerated the truth jus a LITTLE bit? Your friend is not starting a lieing streak, i can tell you that!!!
hope i helped

Karen answered Wednesday February 16 2005, 6:48 pm:
Yes, it is possible for your friend to be 2 more pounds than you and still wear a bigger size in jeans. Your friend also may have a different body shape then you so this is the reason why she has a bigger size in jeans than you. If you know that your friend never lies to you, then she probably isn't lying about her weight. No one, especially your friend, would lie about something like this. If your friend was embarrassed to tell you, she probably would change the subject or not tell you. Hope I helped :)
