A bunch of my friends cut themselves..but for no reason..they just do it because they want attention and they want people to feel sorry for them. They always talk about how depressed they are and how much life sucks for them, and it's not true at all. Because one friend started to cut herself, the other friend started too as well, and now another one is on the verge of cutting herself. They all do it for attention and I'm positive of that, and they drive everyone crazy. I'd like to just not be friends with them anymore but I don't want to see them get hurt, and they won't listen to anyone when theyre told to stop. What should I do to make them realize how stupid they're being without actually giving them the attention that they're cutting themselves for? If they're given the attention they're cutitng themselves for, then they'll just do it again. If we all just ignore them, they could seriously hurt themselves.. please help. Thanks.

Well first don't stop being friends with them because it will make them more depressed and stuff. If I were you I would talk to them bout it and say, "I really care about you guys and I don't want you to get hurt." And tell them how dangerous cutting is and that it doesn't solve anything. Also tell them to come to you if their depressed instead of goin to the kinfe or shaver!

First of all, dont stop being friends with them...it will just make them upset. and im guessing you dont cut, which is good, so your the only friend they have left that can actually help them. you need to go to a school guidance counsler or someone who you can ask to talk to all of them, but make sure you do it anonomously.

If you have already tried talking to them, then just let them see what big mistake they're making, or tell their parents, I know you don't want to see them get hurt, but you have already tried that, so you might as well let them trip over what you warned them about, or you can just quit being friends with them, especially if this is for attention, show them they have less of your attention now that they have cut.

tell you friends how stupid they are .. then tell him that cutting can lead to death and that the only attention their gettin if attention from people being annoyed and tellin them to stop.. and tell them that youo dont want to be their friend anymore if thier gonna do that .. srry not shrue what esel 2 sya . butt i hope that helped

I think you should just sit and talk with them because if you dont it could get a little too far i mean they could go and cutt so bad and deep that the cut a vein or something and tell them that is unhealthy to do it and if their mom or dad found out they would have to go to a mental hospital and wont be able to use pens,pencils,or be able to go to the bathroom without people watching them .. pretty much on suicide watch !

well i think u should sit down and tell them what the risks are when they cut themselves. and if they dont stop they can get hurt badly, no one is going to give them attention people are just gonna think there crazy. you should try to take them out and get there mind off of life.

Okay. Either way, they're going to cut themselves. So you should probably give them attention. Because if you don't, then they'll have someone WORTH cutting for. You don't want them going around saying they're slicing their wrist because of you do you? Probably not. Let them know that you love them and that when they do this they're hurting you deeply, and if they wish to stay friends with you then they should probably stop. If they were any kind of friends they wouldn't want to see you in any pain, and it's obvious that you're hurting. Let them know how you feel. It's very important that they stop the vile acts, because it's not helping anything, Sure they may say it relieves stress, but I highly doubt that it does. You just have to talk to them, let them know, let their parents know, and let them know that if they keep doing this they might get sent away from all their friends in which they wish to gain attention from.

I think that you just need to confront them. Tell them that you can tell that they are just doing it for attention and that you think they could seriously hurt themselves. Maybe when they hear this from a friend they will realize that they were making a big mistake and they will stop. you could also tell someone that you trust. And see what they think. You might need to get these girls help because they might have some serious issues under the cutting. So maybe talk to a counselor. Good luck!

a lot of people cut themselves for attention but their not getting the attention they need. Don't take it apon yourself to stop them tell the counselor and tell him/her not to say who told. Then they'll get the attention they want ;-) hope i helped

well tell them how they need to stop because you know they are seeking attention. then research some stuff about cutters and tell them all the effects and permanent things they can do to themselves. if they dont stop after that them they definitly need to get some help. so if that doesnt work you need to tell on them and make them realize what it really means to have to go through the consequinces of cutting themselves. then they really wont be happy or allowed to do it anymore because there will be too many people checking their wrists. i know that right now it seems like that would be a bad thing to do as a friend but later in life they'll thank you. i know this is hard for you but you have to save these people. hope i helped!
