OK, I have been on Weight Watchers and I got down to 125 pounds. Well, on Sunday I splurged a bit because I went to the city and I had chinese food and today I went over my points a bit and had a grilled cheese sandwich..alright, well...now I'm 130 pounds. What's up with THIS?! how can i magically gain 5 pounds in 3 days. Is this just a trick of the scale?

xXxpinky615xXx answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 6:37 pm: It's possible. It all has to do with your metabolism. If you have a fast metabolism, you burn fat faster and it takes alot to gain weight. If you're metabolism is slower, you tend not to burn fat as easily and gain weight faster. Also, you may not have actually gained 5 pounds, your scale could be off balance. Check your scale to make sure it's on balance, if it is, then you most likely have a very slow metabolism, hence the reason why you gained 5 pounds in three days. Good luck to you. uacctk14 answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 5:44 pm: ok here's a trick put the scale on something hard like wood flooring or tile, etc and do it at a certain time of the day everytime and you can splurge once and a while but just pick foods out that you know will be good for you like steamed brocolli( yeah i know that sounds bad but pick some good chinese food like stuff that is not fried cause thats where most of the fat comes from) [ uacctk14's advice column | Ask uacctk14 A Question ]

Sherry answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 4:48 pm: Your weight fluctuates during diets. You should weigh yourself only once a week in the morning. Dont depend on the scale, because that will just get you discouraged. Instead, focus on how your clothes are becoming loose! If you focus too much on the scale you'll get frustrated and will want to stop the diet. [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
Shortie8959 answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 4:44 pm: It could possibly be a trick, because depending on your elevation, weight varies, but I think it's just because you splurged. Your body was used to eating a certain amount, and when you splurged, it got confused I think! Just keep doing what you're doing, but no more splurges. Good luck!
Hope I helped!

xxBrOkEnxx answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 4:42 pm: did you weigh youself on a different scale?if you did then some scales arent the same.if it is the same scale then i think your body isnt use to your new weight if you lost it in a not a lot of days [ xxBrOkEnxx's advice column | Ask xxBrOkEnxx A Question ]
MFS answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 4:14 pm: A 5 pound difference could be within the margin of error for your scale. Also consider the time of day you weighed yourself... little things like water retention, how much you've eaten and currently have in your GI tract, how recently you've gone to the bathroom, etc... will all cause minor fluctuation in your weight. My weight, according to our scale, can vary by +/- 3 pounds... that's 6 pound range. And that's probably a pretty normal type of fluctuation... don't worry about it.
